EA made its mark at the inaugural EB Games Expo by taking home the Best Console and Game of Show awards for Battlefield 3 on the Gold Coast today.

The EB Games Expo, the first of its kind to be held in Australia, opens its doors to thousands of gaming enthusiasts over the next two days at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Gamers will not only get to try out upcoming EA titles, they will also have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to hear from EA's Chief Operating Officer, Peter Moore. Also present are Battlefield 3 Creative Director Lars Gustavsson and the Global Battlefield Community Manager Daniel Matros, who will discuss all things Battlefield.

Battlefield 3 has already dominated the first two industry focused days at the Expo.  At an EB store managers conference, the FPS was voted Best Console Game and Game of Show. With gamers flooding the Expo on the 15th and 16th, expect to hear more about Battlefield 3 and other upcoming EA releases such as Need for Speed The Run, The Sims 3 Pets, Mass Effect 3 and SSX
