Paris Games Week 2017, By the Players

Re-live the Paris Games Week 2017 from the eyes of our players, with testimonials and reactions from the EA booths.

Paris Games Week just ended after seven crazy days at Parc des expositions in Paris. Like every year, players came with their friends or family to try the latest games, and enjoy one of the best consumer shows in the world.

For this eighth edition, nearly 304,000 people celebrated the richness and diversity of the video game industry with the presence of 182 exhibitors who represented the history, the present and the future of video games.

The show was rolled out on 861,000 square feet and for the first time, in other places of the French capital, thanks in particular to the PlayStation European conference and the “Paris Games Week Symphonic” concert.

Intense games have been played on the FIFA 18 booth

We asked some of our fans to give us their impressions of the show and EA’s games.

Jeremy, 28 years old.

“For me, Paris Games Week is the perfect occasion to spend some good times to test games which have not been released yet. This year I was really excited to try the latest Nintendo Switch games like Super Mario Odyssey, and of course Star Wars Battlefront II which looks incredible. It is the third year that I’m coming here and I really enjoyed the show!”

A quick look at the Star Wars Battlefront II booth before the opening.

Margaux, 19 years old.

“We are here with my friends to spend some cool time during this bank holiday! It’s crazy to see all these booths with nice scenery, huge screens and loud music. Everything is made to make you spend the day here: Even if we already have FIFA 18 at home, we couldn’t resist to come and play some games. The Sony show floor is really well done and this X-Wing is really awesome!”

About 30 000 players played EA games during Paris Games Week.

Mehdi, 14 years old.

“It’s my first time here and I’m with my dad. I really love how big the overall show is! I can’t wait to play FIFA 18 on Switch. My dad is more interested about racing games so we may go try Need for Speed as well. I know there is a place dedicated to kids and to retro-gaming”

At the EA booth players get their own printed FUT Item.

Catherine, 31 years old.

“The show is just CRA-ZY. All those kids dressed-up, the games, the booths and light shows… I’ve never experienced such an ambience in any consumer show. I am not particularly into video games but was just curious to visit this year because everybody is talking about it and now I definitely understand why. I will probably come back with my little cousin next year.”

Players seizing the final opportunity to try Need for Speed Payback before its release on November 10.

Paris Games Week closed last Sunday and EA was proud to be part of this year’s edition.

We hope all of our players enjoyed the show and we hope to see you next year for more games and surprises!

See you next time at Paris Games Week.
