The EA Sydney office was abuzz with excitement last week when journalists from various media outlets joined two of Sydney FC’s rising talents for a game (or five) of FIFA 13.
Playing the latest Gamescom code, the attendees test drove new game features such as First Touch Control, Attacking Intelligence and Complete Dribbling.
Up and coming Sydney FC attacking midfielder, Dimitri Petratos, 20, was quick to find himself in the game and get stuck in. He says Complete Dribbling gives him more control in one-on-one situations and preferred the dribbling in FIFA 13 when compared to FIFA 12.
“It was fun playing as myself, you can do a lot more off the ball now which makes it more realistic”, he said.
His teammate, Mitchell Mallia, 20, was equally impressed by the realism and Attacking Intelligence feature of the game saying there was a lot movement off the ball from team-mates making runs. On how much the gameplay has improved, he said it’s “like controlling a game on Fox Sports… can’t wait to get my hands on a copy.”
Here are some thoughts from the other attendees:
GeekBomb – “I’ve never played FIFA before and I’m officially converted”
Vitor Sobral (SBS: The World Game) – “Game is awesome, I like that I can play as my favourite local team from my home town in Portugal”
IGN – “The game is looking really good, I can tell there is going to be some serious tournaments in the office.”
