Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 FAQ

It’s a crazy new world in Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2. The Zombies have taken over Suburbia and for the first time in franchise history, plants are on the attack. Keep your brains safe with this vital information below:

When and what platforms?
Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 will ship on Xbox One, PS4 and PC in the Spring of 2016 at the same time.

What new characters are coming to PvZGW2?
Six New Classes are coming, in addition to the original 8 to this all-out botanical battle for a total of 14 classes. Most of the characters you know and love will return from the original Garden Warfare, with the exception of the four promotional characters.

New Classes:
Kernel Corn – A corn cob returning from combat overseas to find Suburbia changed into Zomburbia and ready to fight back.
Rose – An all powerful sorceress from the past that can turn Zombie foes into fully playable goats.
Citron – A bounty hunting orange from the future sent back through time to destroy the Imp & his Z-mech.
Imp & Z mech from Z-tech – Dr Zomboss created the Z-mech to give his Imps the edge, little did he know it would turn the tide of battle. The imp is the most agile character in GW2, but also the character with the lowest health.
Super Brainz – Dr Zomboss has created a Zombie Super Hero. Super Brainz thinks he is an 80’s action movie star.
Captain Deadbeard – Don’t let his crusty appearance fool you. This peg-legged captain has a trick transforming weapon up his sleeve: A pin-point accurate sniper rifle at range, and a devastating shotgun blast up close.

Can I transfer characters?
As a thank you to our loyal fans, we will be giving all players of the original Garden Warfare the ability to transfer characters they have unlocked into Garden Warfare 2 right from launch.

Will there be free updates?
With Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2, when you invest time in our game, we will invest in you. The team is committed to free post launch updates to ensure Zomburbia stays fresh and action packed.

How many new maps are coming?
There are 12 new Battlegrounds coming to Garden Warfare 2. The new living maps reflect the new order in Suburbia. From the Time Travel Theme park to the final frontier, Garden Warfare 2 will feature 12 new immersive maps, bursting with personality and humor, Zombossified cityscapes, and crowded airspaces, all layered with hidden secrets waiting to be discovered that combine to tell bigger stories about the PvZ universe.

Take Time Travel Theme Park for instance. It’s what happens when Zomboss wants to create the greatest theme park known to zombiekind. It is the biggest map the Garden Warfare team has ever made – each time zone a loving rendered landscape

What new games modes are there?
Fight for Zomburbia in 7 game modes - Go on the offensive as the plants in all-new 24-player Herbal Assault mode, or defend as the zombies in 4-player co-op in Graveyard Ops.

New zombie focused modes: With plants on the attack, PvZ Garden Warfare 2 introduces all new game modes. Play as the Plants on the Attack in the all-new 24 player multiplayer Herbal Assault mode, or rally the zombies together and defend against them in the 4-player co-op Graveyard Ops.

New gameplay style: As zombies go on the defense, you’ll discover all new gameplay abilities and features including never before seen plant bosses & new hilarious plant characters, like the weeds.

What are the multiplayer options?
There is 24-player online multiplayer and up to 4-player online co-op. Play multiplayer with or against friends or play co-op locally with a friend across everymode in the game. That’s right – from the comfort of your own couch you and a friend can enjoy every mode of the game in splitscreen, even play on opposing sides!

Can I play on my own?
For the first time, we’re introducing a unique solo play experience where you can play every single game mode either by yourself against AI or with the help of a friend in local split screen (no Xbox Live Gold or PS Plus required).

Can I create private matches?
Yes! You can create private matches and set your own rules to play with or against friends online to get ultra competitive or just for crazy fun.

Has the progression system changed?
We’ve overhauled our progression system, allowing you to explore and play with each of the 100+ character variants and earn XP along the way.
