NBA LIVE 19: Team Security 101

The NBA LIVE season is officially here and, with it, a full suite of challenges aimed at reaching the top and gaining Icon status! You’re ready to shoot hoops in NBA LIVE 19, but is your account? Before you hop into the game, make sure that you learn how to play within the rules.

Are You Ready to Play?

Before you start dribbling, check your account security and other accounts specifics with this article from EA Help. If you can’t stay on the court, how are you expecting to score? Be sure to check out some of our other quick tips on Fair Play and account safety for NBA LIVE 19, too.

Learn the Rules

Don’t get a backcourt violation – brush up on the rules before you play! It’s important to make sure that players are kind to each other, so don’t harass, embarrass, or threaten other players. Just like on the court, you don’t want to risk getting a technical or even getting thrown out of the game, so watch your language while playing!

Coins

If you’re a LUT player, there are several ways to earn Coins - including playing LUT - but buying Coins from a third-party is strictly against our rules. You can earn LUT Coins legitimately by playing games in Ultimate TeamTM, completing solo challenges, and buying and selling players in the Community Market. To learn more about the risk of buying Coins from a third-party, scroll down to the section titled ”Buy Coins” on the EA Help Rules page.

Let’s be real, cheaters never prosper. What qualifies someone as a cheater in NBA LIVE? Cheating can include, but isn’t limited to, using external tools, performing in-game exploits, and abusing glitches or bugs. In-game cheating is not fair play and hurts the experience for the players you are playing against.

Just like the NBA, there are always consequences for breaking the rules. Some possible consequences could include wiping your LUT Coins balance, temporarily or permanently locking your account out of the Community Market, and even suspending your console from playing NBA LIVE online modes for a period of time, or forever.

Keep Your Defense Strong with Account Verification

If you really want to become a Defensive Player of the Year candidate like our cover athlete Joel Embiid, be sure to set up login verification for extra account security before playing. Login verification helps keep your account safe. With it, a code that ties your account to your device will be sent and you’ll be asked to confirm the details either through email or text message. To learn more about login verification, check out this helpful article on EA Help.

Defend the Paint by Boosting Account Security

There are a lot of different ways to blow a lead – the majority of them can be prevented by game planning your defense ahead of time. One of the quickest, easiest ways to start doing this is by creating a strong, unique password. The tougher it is, the more difficult it becomes to hack into your account. Each account has a security question, so it’s important to make sure that the answer is something specific and tough to guess!

Be sure to use trusted devices when inputting your password and adding a secondary email to your EA Account can help to maintain your security. Again, don’t share your info with anyone! Keep in mind, EA will never ask for your login information so, if you get anything that looks official asking, it’s not us! We will never contact you through your console messaging system for any reason, either. Should you get any sort of message that seems off, the best thing to do is report it to a forum moderator. To find out more about boosting account security, check out this article.

What If I Get Suspended or Banned?

Look, some of the greatest players have faced suspensions in the NBA – if you think your account was banned or suspended by mistake, you’re able to get the EA refs to review the decision by simply filling out a web form.

Log onto any EA Help page, the Contact Us button at the top, and then select the game that your account was banned or suspended from. If it’s on your whole EA Account, please choose Origin. Next, select Manage My Account and then Banned or Suspended Account. You will then be asked to fill out other details specific to your account, and then click Select Contact Option after you’ve finished. If you haven’t already, sign in to your banned or suspended account and you’ll see the web form mentioned before. Just fill it out being as specific as possible, and you’ll hear back in a timely manner!
