Skate 3 - The Grind - The End

The time has finally fallen upon me to write this last and final article, but fear not. I’ll be doing the same thing I’ve always done. Go skateboarding with friends, work at Snow and Skate City gripping decks and selling skateboards and of course, play XBox 360.
I only had one major bail this week. Nothing bad, just hung up on the flat bank, slid to the bottom and ended up with grazed elbows. If I had done that 8 years ago I would have been fine, but now I feel I’m getting too old for this. I was not skating for 2 days because I had strained my back and at twenty five years of age I didn’t think back problems would be bothering me. Not to worry though I am back on my board now and as soon as I’m finished typing, and for the rain to stop, I’ve got a whole evening on my deck kicking back and listing to some tunes.
Which reminds me, the biggest thing to happen to me this week was Rage Against the Machine! I managed to get tickets to the free gig at Finsbury Park. Just so you know I am a huge Rage fan but I have never seen them live before so I was really stoked!
Rage was one of the first bands I started to listen to when I first started skateboarding. I felt like their music and skateboarding had so much in common. I even try to get as many Rage albums on vinyl as possible, but I’m the kind person who has every rage song downloaded onto my X Box and listens to it whilst playing Skate 3. There’s nothing better to do than put on my favorite music and go skateboarding. It’ll be at a time when I’m stressed out or need some space and just throw on my headphones and just go skate the streets.
It’s the same in the virtual skate world too. If I’m listing to a song that doesn’t match my skating style, my gaming suffers for it. This game is about skating in my own way and with my music it helps in my game play, which has helped me with own the spot challenges.
Too many times on the final lot challenges I’ve been getting stressed trying to land that last trick before the timer runs out and the best way to own the challenge is to listen to my own tunes. I’ve even tried to cop out and try challenges on normal and sometimes even easy mode to get those last challenges. Really the best way to win is to keep using the session markers to save time, stay relaxed and just keep at it and don’t let it get you down.
And lastly in these final words… Go skateboarding, be with friends, respect everyone and just be your own person and get online with Skate 3. Skate in your own way and don’t let anyone tell you to do it differently.
Thanks you for all your support and as always… Keep skating!
Jay Mack
