On Sunday, Juventus Defender Giorgio Chiellini scored his third goal of the season in a 3:1 victory over Inter Milan. The win momentarily gives the Turin side a nine-point lead over second-place AS Roma.
Dutch international Wesley Sneijder scored three goals for Galatasaray who easily defeated struggling Bursaspor 6:0. Defending Turkish champions Galatasaray sit in second place, seven points behind city rivals Fenerbahçe.
Bayern played two league matches over the past week, and while they comfortably defeated Frankfurt 5:0 on Sunday, Wednesday’s match in Stuttgart against VfB Stuttgart was the one everyone was talking about. The host’s led for most of the match, but the Bundesliga champions managed to tie it up in the 76th minute. Spanish midfielder Thiago scored an incredible scissor-kick goal in stoppage time to give the visitors the 1:2 win and allowed them to stretch their already massive lead atop the league table.
