Player Ratings Update: Week 3
See how performances from superstars like Josh Allen and Trevor Lawrence have affected their Madden Ratings.
Madden NFL 22

Week 3 in the NFL was loaded with surprises. The Los Angeles Rams defeated Tom Brady and the defending Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs were defeated by the Los Angeles Chargers, the Baltimore Ravens pulled out a last-second win in dramatic fashion (more on that later), and the Buffalo Bills made a statement in a dominant victory.
Epic runs, crazy catches, and incredible plays abounded all over the NFL during Week 3. And the Madden NFL 22 Ratings Performance Adjustor team is working hard to tweak, refine, and polish ratings across the league based on those IRL performances.
As always, you can access the full Madden NFL 22 Player Ratings Database HERE to see all of this week’s Ratings Updates and more.
Let’s take a closer look at some key Ratings Updates as we ready up for Week 4.
Week 3: Who’s Up
Justin Tucker | K | Baltimore Ravens
That’s right, we’re giving lots of love to a kicker this week. Arguably the best kicker in the NFL, Justin Tucker is officially the best boot in Madden NFL 22. Following his record-setting (and game-winning) 66-yard field goal against the Lions on Sunday, the Ratings Adjustor team is recognizing Tucker’s greatness, boosting him to a 99 OVR for a limited time. Tucker will be the first kicker in the Madden NFL 99 Club since Adam Vinatieri and David Akers in Madden NFL 06, and the fifth kicker of all-time to achieve a 99 OVR rating.
Ja’Marr Chase | WR | Cincinnati Bengals
Remember all the way back to the preseason when rookie wideout Ja’Marr Chase suffered a few drops, and was quoted saying that the NFL ball is “hard to see” raised red flags? Well, three games into his NFL career, Chase has racked up four touchdown receptions and 220 receiving yards. According to NFL Research, Chase became the youngest player in NFL history to have 4+ receiving touchdowns in his team’s first three games of a season, surpassing the legendary Randy Moss. He’s become the clear No. 1 WR for the Bengals, and the Ratings Adjustor team is boosting his rating for the second time already this season.
With 2 receiving TD today, Ja'Marr Chase became the youngest player (& first 21-year-old) in NFL history to have 4+ rec TD in his team's first 3 games of a season

Josh Allen | QB | Buffalo Bills
It was an impressive five-touchdown game for Josh Allen in a victory over the Washington Football Team on Sunday. Allen threw for 358 yards and four scores, and even added one rushing touchdown for good measure. The Madden NFL 22 Ratings Adjustor team is bumping Allen back up to his Launch Rating of 88 OVR (he slipped to 87 OVR after a slow start) ahead of Week 4.
Week 3: Who’s Down
Ben Roethlisberger | QB | Pittsburgh Steelers
Ben Roethlisberger has struggled in back-to-back losses for the Steelers. He threw two picks and just one touchdown pass on Sunday, despite a season-high 58 attempted passes. Pittsburgh’s offense simply isn’t clicking and Roethlisberger is taking a ratings hit this week as a result.
Josh Lambo | K | Jacksonville Jaguars
While one kicker is getting all the love this week (see above), another may find himself on the roster bubble after a rough outing. Josh Lambo missed not one, but two extra point attempts in a loss against the Cardinals on Sunday. Can’t be doing that. As a result, Lambo is slipping in the ratings ahead of Week 4.
Trevor Lawrence | QB | Jacksonville Jaguars
Rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence turned the ball over four times against the Cardinals on Sunday, and has now accumulated eight turnovers in his first three games in the NFL. The Jaguars are off to an 0-3 start, and the No. 1 draft pick is slipping in the ratings as a result.
