How To Prevent Fumbles

Want to stop fumbling in College Football 26? You’re not alone, because in the new game setting your ball carrier to ‘Conservative’ only affects AI-controlled players — not your user. So, one big hit is all it takes to fumble— and turn it over.

To protect the ball, just hold the Right Bumper while running. It slows you down a little but makes fumbling way less likely.

How to QB Slide

Protecting the ball is key — but if you’re scrambling with your quarterback, there’s something even more important: sliding. If you take big hits, you're not just risking a fumble — you're adding wear and tear that can affect performance over the course of a game or season.

To slide with your quarterback, tap Square on PlayStation or X on Xbox when your quarterback is past the line of scrimmage.
