Maker Program FAQ

Who are Makers and what is The Sims Maker Program?

Makers are creators who specialize in crafting and designing 3D game assets, also known as custom content (CC), for The Sims. The Sims Maker Program is an official initiative that lets Makers publish their content directly to the in-game store on all platforms, including consoles.

With support from The Sims Team, Makers can publish their creations, share them with the community, and earn from their work.

All Maker Packs are officially endorsed by The Sims so players can trust that the content is verified as safe (no viruses or malware), compatible with base game updates, and easy to install.

How is Maker content purchased?

Maker content will be purchased on the in-game storefront using our virtual currency, Moola. Moola bundles will be available in various sizes to fit the needs of our players.

What do I get if I join The Sims Maker Program?

When Makers are accepted to the program, they will receive:

  • Access to official tools, including EA’s proprietary software, to design and publish content that will be compatible with the game.
  • Support during game updates, ensuring Maker content stays compatible.
  • Dedicated support from The Sims Community Management team.
  • A chance to reach more players, with content available on PC, Mac, and Console.
  • The ability to earn revenue from content sold directly to all players in the in-game store.

Who can join The Sims Maker Program?

Aspiring Makers can apply if they meet the following requirements:

  • Be 18 years of age or older.
  • Not reside in an EA-embargoed region.
  • Be proficient in English (communication will be in English)
  • Have an EA account in good standing with EA’s User Agreement
