How Squads Win Games

APEX IS BETTER WHEN YOU STOP PLAYING ALONE
Apex is a squad game. 3 average players working together can crush an uncoordinated squad of high-skill players more often than you’d think. But you’ve got to work as a team.
5 essential squad habits
1. Stay together
Move as a unit. Even if you’re playing alone and nobody’s on voice comms, you’ve got to play around your teammates. If your squad cannot help you within a few seconds, you are too far away. That one rule fixes a surprising amount of bad situations. It makes revives possible, trades cleaner, and punishes risky engagements.
2. Share intel
Say what you see. You can still be useful if you’re not on voice comms by using pings. Enemy pings last 10 seconds and show through walls for your whole squad; a ping at 40 meters gives everyone time to position. Don’t spam pings when you’re downed, just one or two to show the location, more than that is a distraction for your squad.
3. Call resets
In a fight, tell your squad when you’re taking a second to reset: “My shield’s cracked.” “Healing.” “Backing up.” It helps your squad decide whether to push the advantage or hold cover while you heal. Without it, you lose cohesion: your squadmates might push up and get picked off if they don’t know you’re stopping to heal.
4. Share the good stuff
Ping useful gear like healing items, high-tier weapons and shields. Your squad will last a lot longer if you treat loot as a shared resource. And keep an eye on resource requests: if a squadmate pings for something and you have a spare, drop it for them.
5. Swing together
2 or 3 players peeking simultaneously from different angles is pressure most squads cannot track or answer. When one teammate starts the push, the other two should attack from nearby angles right away. If you wait too long, the enemy has time to focus on one player at a time, so be quick!
Do this next
- Stay within trade distance of at least one teammate next match.
- Use ping often for rotations, danger call outs, and useful loot.
