On The Case: Heist Stakes

May 29, 2026

Sul Sul…

The mastermind has been revealed. Gus Shymole - better known as Detective Sly Gumshoe - has been one step ahead all along.  Looking back, the clues were right there from the start. Now, SimTown’s biggest case is entering its final act.

But finding him was only the beginning. Now your Sims have to catch him. Chase Gus through a guarded museum, a high-society gala, and a bank where the final plan comes together. They’ll need the right allies, the right outfits, and perfect timing to pull it off.

Before the chase really gets underway, let’s take a look at everything else coming to SimTown in this update…

A criminal Sim reaches forward while holding a bag of gold bars, with a detective standing in the background, representing the high-stakes finale of the On The Case series.

There’s a Whole Haul of New Game Features Coming

We have so many changes, features, and improvements in this update that we had to create a June Developer update video to talk about some of our favorite features. If you haven’t seen it yet, check out what's coming up on our social media channels.

Enhanced Lighting Phase Two is complete!

This update brings the final round of Enhanced Lighting across SimTown’s Community Spaces, including the Pet Park, Public Beach, Ice Ape Arcade, High Top Carnival, and Midtown Café, adding depth, warmth, and atmosphere across the town.

From brighter days to richer shadows, these finishing touches pull everything together, making every visit feel just a little more alive.

With that completed, we’re able to move on to the next set of Features on our roadmap.

HUD (Heads Up Display) Refresh

A Sim celebrates inside a home while the updated HUD interface is visible, showing reorganized menus, event icons, and a more prominent selected Sim display.

With this update, we’re refreshing the HUD to make it easier to navigate SimTown and see what’s happening as you play. The HUD includes the buttons, icons, and controls you see on-screen, so changes here can make a big difference in how the game feels.

We wanted the things you check most often to have more screen presence, along with the Sims you’re spending time with. That meant bringing important updates out of menus and giving your selected Sim more room to show who they are.

Live Events now sit on the right-hand side of your screen, making it quicker to see which events are active, how much time is left, and when actions are ready.

Your selected Sim also takes center stage, appearing larger and more detailed. Their look reflects their current style, mood, and major life moments, including pregnancy.

The Sim Tracker icon has been updated, and now shows a notification when one of your Sims finishes an action.

As you use the refreshed HUD, we’d love to hear how it feels!

A New Build Mode Camera Option Has Been Added!

Split view showing Build Mode perspectives: a top-down layout on the left and a side-view interior on the right, demonstrating different ways to design and decorate a home.

Sometimes you need one view to plan a space… and another to bring it to life.

That’s why this update introduces a brand-new Build Mode camera option! Use the classic overhead view when you’re laying things out, then switch to the new side-on camera to style, place, and fine-tune every detail.

Move between the two at any time and shape your space from exactly the angle you need.

Landgraab Ventures Expands

Landgraab Ventures returns with more locations to progress through: the Real Estate Agency, Science Lab, Art Gallery, Fire Station, and Competition Center.

This update also introduces two major upgrades through Landgraab Ventures that we think you’ll love:

  • Roof Revolution - Unlocked through the Real Estate Agency, this upgrade opens up a whole new layer of home customization, allowing your Sims to decorate and style their rooftops with a growing range of objects and décor.
  • Accessory Amplifier - Unlocked through the Science Lab, this upgrade lets your Sims wear up to three accessories at once, such as glasses, earrings, and facial piercings.

Alongside these upgrades, you’ll find more Build Mode and CAS items, additional actions and autonomy, and gameplay buffs that add more depth to everyday life in SimTown.

An Update to Daily Tasks

When there’s a big event happening in SimTown, your daily routine shouldn’t pull you away from it.

With this update, Live Events can now appear in your Daily Tasks, so your daily goals can better reflect the events you’re already playing.

Zen Studio Mystery Box

Arriving in time for International Yoga Day, the Zen Studio Mystery Box includes yoga equipment, calming décor, and nature-inspired pieces to help your Sims create a peaceful wellness space wherever they are.

Now Let the Heist Begin!

The Final Rendezvous Look

A group of Sims in sleek, coordinated outfits stand together in a detective-style office setting, showcasing the “Final Rendezvous” fashion collection.

The case is entering its final phase, and your Sims need to dress for the part.

The Final Rendezvous Look features a structured trench coat layered over a turtleneck, tall boots, and vintage-inspired accessories for a composed, heist-inspired look. Perfect for slipping through a gallery, working the room, or keeping cool when the chase begins.

Each variation is available to claim for 48 hours, with a new look arriving each week.

The Final Moves Are in Motion…

SimChase: A Matter of Framing

The museum’s newest exhibit is impossible to ignore: polished displays, priceless relics, and not nearly enough security.

Race through the gallery as you chase the curator step-for-step, securing the space and staying ahead before anything slips through the cracks. Along the way, unlock lavish museum décor, dramatic display pieces, and suspiciously convincing replicas, perfect for Sims with expensive taste. We even hear they are currently displaying the highly prized ‘The Tragedy of Clown’ painting.

Influence Island: A Toast to Trouble

Silk, sparkle, and just enough side-eye to keep things interesting.

At this high-society gala, it’s all about who you know and what they’re willing to say. Step in and influence the room, win over the right guests, and unlock glamorous paparazzi setups, a crowd-stopping luxury gown, and a new red carpet animation. Perfect for blending in with the SimTown elite.

Craft Challenge: A Spy Who Helped Me

Plans change. Tactics evolve.

Call in a favor and craft your way into a stronger position, pulling together the tools and tricks you need to stay one move ahead. Build out the ultimate undercover setup with sleek loft-inspired décor, getaway-ready vehicles, and clever additions fit for a Sim who always has an exit strategy.

SimChase: Bank On It!

Bright lights. Tight security. One perfect setup.

Everything is in place, and now there’s nowhere left to slip away to. Chase Gus down in the final showdown, where timing is everything and every road leads to the finale.

Crack the case to unlock your own oversized bank vault, perfect for planning your next heist, plus security cameras and a nice stash of Social Points.

One Last Move

It all comes down to this.

Gus has been revealed, the plan is set, and SimTown’s biggest case is almost over. What happens next isn’t about finding more clues. It’s about timing, nerve, and making sure he doesn’t slip away.

For now, keep your cool, trust the plan, and see it through.

Because once this is over, SimTown might finally be ready to ‘turn the page’.
