Leaders Event

If there is one common thread between all the great hockey teams, it’s strong leadership: players who set an example with their play on the ice, their attitude off the ice, and their work ethic. These players are usually easy to identify as teams will choose to honor them with a letter on their jersey – “C” for Captain, and “A” for Alternate Captain.

Today we are excited to launch the Leaders Event which celebrates great hockey leaders of present day and years past. This is your chance to select the captain for your team who will lead you for the rest of the Hockey Ultimate Team season.

Master Items
We are releasing 5 different Leaders Master Items (in packs and sets) – and we’re very excited to announce our first ever SHL, and Liiga Master Items.

• Mark Messier 90 OVR (New York Rangers)
• Jonathan Toews 90 OVR (Chicago Blackhawks)
• Scott Niedermayer 90 OVR (Anaheim Ducks)
• Joel Lundqvist 90 OVR (Frolunda Indians)
• Lasse Kukkonen 90 OVR (Oulun Kärpät)

All Master items possess team synergies, as well as one attribute boosted all the way to 99!

Mark Messier Set
For those of you who already have the 90 OVR Master Icon Mark Messier, there will be a set available to upgrade him to the Leaders version.

Player Items
There will be two weeks of Player Item releases. The first week will include 4 NHL Players, 4 NHL Alumni, two players from the Swedish Hockey League, and two from the Swiss National League. The second week will include 4 NHL Players, 4 NHL Alumni, 2 Liiga Players, and 2 DEL Players.

Similar to the Master Items, all Leaders player items include team synergies, and one attribute boosted to 99.

Starter Pack
We will have an untradeable Starter Pack that has 15 items, including a Gold Collectible and a guaranteed Leaders Player Item! We’ve also included a Captain Consumable and two Alternate Captain consumables, so your new Leader will be ready to take on his new role on your Ultimate Team. For this event, the Starter Pack will be purchasable once during week one, and once during week two of the event, so you can guarantee yourself one player from each week of content.

Challenges
Once again players can play Weekday Challenges to earn Leaders collectibles, which can be traded for a Gold Collectible at the end of the event.
