Release Recap
Team of The Week

Wildcard Wednesday: Veterans
- Jason McCourty (CB, 91 OVR)
- So, you like fast cornerbacks, huh? This McCourty item drops with a 91 speed, satiating our desire for good CBs with speed. His 92 man coverage and 88 zone coverage are very solid ratings for the veteran, who has picked off 18 passes in 11 seasons.
- Ryan Fitzpatrick (QB, 90 OVR)
- Who doesn’t love a little Fitz Magic? The 16-year NFL vet is 30th all-time in passing yards despite playing a full season just three times. This item does the legend justice, offering a 90 throw power, 87 short accuracy, 90 medium accuracy and 87 deep accuracy. Also, you can’t overlook his 78 speed. After all, Fitz does have more than 2,600 career rushing yards and 21 rushing touchdowns.
- Cordarrelle Patterson (HB, 90 OVR)
- I was looking into the all-time leaders for kickoffs returned for touchdowns, and the leaderboard reinforced just how difficult a task it really is. Let me explain. Cordarrelle Patterson is tied for the NFL’s all-time leader with eight house calls. However, no other active player is even close. The closest active player is Jamal Agnew, and he’s 26! If the 30 year-old Patterson can bring one, or more, home by the end of his career, it will be a very VERY long time before that record is broken. This item has a blazing 91 speed and 88 break tackle.
- Robert Quinn (ROLB, 90 OVR)
- Quarterbacks, much to their collective dismay, are not strangers to Robert Quinn. He has 86 sacks over his 10-year career and is on pace to near his single-season sack total again this year. This Quinn item is everything you want from an edge rusher, minus the finesse moves (73 rating). His 85 speed, 88 strength, 90 block shedding and 90 power moves are beastly.
- Jared Cook (TE, 90 OVR)
- Cook is quietly living it up in his NFL golden years. His age 31 and 32 seasons were statistically the best of his career. This year, he’s working with rising star Justin Herbert and hasn’t lost a step. His 89 speed is reminiscent of his younger days and a glorious number at that. That speed, combined with his 6’5 height and a 70 run blocking

LTDs
- Rodney Hudson (C, 93 OVR)
- This beastly Hudson item immediately becomes one of the best offensive linemen in MUT. Though the speed (55) and strength (8) leave just a bit to be desired, Hudson’s 94 pass blocking and 91 run blocking are off-the-charts good right now.
- Marcus Maye (SS, 93 OVR)
- This Maye item is so complete it feels unfair. His 91 speed is up there with the best, but his 88 hit power and, 85 tackling, 93 zone coverage, 88 man coverage and 92 awareness are an incredible way to round out this defensive weapon.

Redux Program
- Larry Csonka (FB, 91 OVR)
- Warren Sapp (DT, 91 OVR)
- Leonard Davis (RG, 91 OVR)
- Kevin Greene (LOLB, 91 OVR)
- Darren Waller (TE, 91 OVR)
- Devin White (MLB, 91 OVR)
- Nick Chubb (HB, 91 OVR)
- Fletcher Cox (DT, 91 OVR)

Legends Reveal
Michael Vick (QB, 93 OVR)
You wouldn’t be interested in this card, would you? Nah, right? Ha. Here he is. The player who made me and so many others fall in love with Madden is finally in MUT. Vick holds the record for career rushing yards by a quarterback with 6,109, nearly 1,000 yards more than 2nd-place Cam Newton (5,398). Some debate whether the prime of his career was in Atlanta, where he burst onto the scene and made three Pro Bowls, or in Philadelphia, where he put up career-highs in passing yards and won the Comeback Player of The Year.
Charles Woodson (CB, 93 OVR)
Talk about some legends this week, huh? Woodson is another generational talent with an incredible NFL resume. The fourth overall pick in the 1998 draft played 17 seasons with the Raiders and Packers, at nearly every defensive back position. He was just inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this summer. Woodson redefined the term “ballhawk,” picking off 65 passes, the fifth-most of all time. He’s third all-time in number of pick sixes with 11. Woodson

TJ’s Top Five: Fantasy Football Fallout
This week’s top five is dedicated to fantasy football. We love it, we hate it, but we keep playing. Of all the players crushing it for your fantasy team this year, I’ve ranked my top five who also dominate on the MUT gridiron.
5) Deebo Samuel (WR, SF - 88 OVR)
23.5 points/game
Samuel burst onto the scene with a beastly rookie season in 2019 but missed most of 2020 with injuries. This year he’s picking up right where he left off as a rookie and coming back in a major way. Through four weeks, Deebo has totaled 490 yards and three touchdowns. Considering most people drafted him after round seven in fantasy football, he’s been a steal. In MUT, his 88 OVR item is extremely effective, mainly because of its 91 speed. The 90 jumping and 86 spectacular catch aren’t sluggish, either.
4) Christian McCaffrey (RB, CAR - 92 OVR)
Averaging 19.5 fantasy points/game
If you drafted CMC first overall, you’re hoping he’s healthy again as soon as possible! Fear not, his MUT item is still crushing it. He’s as slippery as it gets, and his ratings do him justice. Whether it’s his 91 agility, 92 spin move, 90 juke move or 85 break tackle, there’s a pretty good chance you’re finding daylight when using CMC in MUT.
3) Josh Allen (QB, BUF - 91 OVR)
22.8 points/game
Despite a slow start to the season in a loss to Pittsburgh, Allen is already back to his normal self and the QB7 in all of fantasy. His MUT item is a coveted one, showing impressive numbers in both the throw power (91) and speed (83) categories. With this Allen item under center for your MUT squad, you can run just about any offense you’d like, considering he’s also got a 91 short accuracy rating.
2) Darren Waller (TE, LV - 91 OVR)
15.9 points/game
The wide receiver turned tight end broke out late in his career but is now dominating in his prime. His rapport with Derek Carr has reached a Matthew Stafford to Calvin Johnson level of “Chuck and pray.” Waller is everywhere on the field for the Raiders. His 91 OVR MUT item does just that, too. Its 88 speed is very solid for the TE position and the 91 short route running, 90 spectacular catch and 89 release make him a mismatch waiting to happen.
1. Aaron Jones (RB, GB - 92 OVR)
18.6 points/game
A shoe-in for Team of The Week after his four-touchdown performance in week two, Jones is making fantasy managers and MUT players very happy. Some people discounted his fantasy stock this year thinking AJ Dillon might vulture some touchdowns, but it doesn’t appear backfield competition has slowed him down at all. In MUT, Jones is tied for the third-fastest player in the game with a 90 speed. He’s equally agile as he is powerful, rocking an 88 trucking, 92 juke move and 92 break tackle. The same advice goes for the people playing him in fantasy or MUT … look out.
