What is Battlefield REDSEC?
Battlefield REDSEC is a genre-shifting free-to-play experience built on Battlefield’s iconic DNA, featuring a bold new take on the Battle Royale genre, a new competitive squad-based mode called Gauntlet and even more ways to unlock the power of Portal. REDSEC launches alongside Season 1 for Battlefield 6.
What is unique about the Battle Royale?
Battlefield's DNA is fused with the best of the Battle Royale genre, creating unrivaled opportunities for your team to approach each match and achieve ultimate victory. Players drop into a massive battle with 100 players, explore a massive and diverse map for powerful loot, and take down enemy squads through Battlefield’s signature gameplay experience, including taking advantage of the environment through Tactical Destruction and causing vehicular carnage.
What is Gauntlet?
Gauntlet is a new mode which pushes squad competition to a new level of intensity. In this fast-paced elimination mode, 8 teams of 4-player squads compete in a series of dynamic round-based missions in a tournament-style format. Each round consists of 5-minute windows for squads to complete their mission objectives. Prepare for the unexpected as each round, location, and mission will be unique variables, utilizing unrivaled squad dynamics and tight teamwork to rise to the top.
How does Portal work with REDSEC?
With the Portal toolset, players can create or discover their own REDSEC experiences on the diverse and ever-evolving playspace.
Do I need to own Battlefield 6 to experience REDSEC?
No, this is a stand-alone experience and free for all players. Those who own Battlefield 6 will be able to enjoy both experiences within a single launcher.
Are there paid cosmetics or unlockables included in REDSEC?
Yes, there is a battle pass with premium tiers containing exclusive cosmetics. This Battle Pass and all its unlocks are shared across both Battlefield 6 and REDSEC.
Does progression in REDSEC cross over with the base game?
While there are challenges specific to Battlefield 6 and REDSEC, overall account progression progression is unified.
If I own Battlefield 6, do I need a separate launcher for REDSEC or is it included within the same package?
No. All Battlefield 6 experiences are included within the same launcher.
Is there a REDSEC specific Battle Pass?
No, the Battle Pass is shared across Battlefield 6 and REDSEC. Certain events may have their own bonus paths with specific challenges tied to REDSEC or Battlefield 6, but the full Battle Pass is shared.
Are there exclusive REDSEC unlockables for BF Pro users?
Content is currently shared between titles so there are no plans for REDSEC exclusives. However there are certain vehicle skins from the base game which may not be present in all REDSEC experiences.
