The updated Dynasty Mode in EA Sports College Football 26 is smarter, deeper, and more unpredictable than ever.

Whether it's your first season or you're returning for another year, here’s what you need to know to start building your legacy.

Begin by picking your team, or import one you've created using the Team Builder site. You can customize everything from conferences to schedules.

Next, build your coach. Choose your role, pick your archetype, and customize your appearance and demeanor. Whether you're a Recruiter, a Motivator, or a Tactician, your coaching path shapes your program. And yes, style matters too.

Recruiting is crucial. With over 4,000 prospects each year, use your recruiting board to scout talent, pitch what makes your school special, and secure the right recruits. Each recruit has a Dealbreaker on their player card, and if you can't meet it, they might commit elsewhere or transfer later.

Expectations evolve. A three-star freshman might be quiet year one, but if he excels, he may seek better competition, more playtime, or a shot at the big stage. Getting talent is one thing; developing it is another.

Development Traits are more important than ever. Players who shine during the season can upgrade their Development Traits, shown on their player card, and progress more in the off-season. You'll also see physical changes when players hit key progression thresholds, gaining weight and changing body types to reflect their development.

The transfer portal is now a battlefield. Players can leave based on performance, changing goals, or unmet Dealbreaker expectations. Playing time is based on actual snaps played, not just depth chart position. So if a top recruit is benched, he might not stay.

Every game, win, and trophy is tracked. The Trophy Room records your entire dynasty history, from individual awards to championship runs, your fifth Heisman, or your program's first national title.
