FIFA 23 | Pitch Notes - PC FAQ

Hi everyone, as you may have already read in the FIFA 23 Gameplay Deep Dive, we’re excited to share that the PC version of FIFA 23 will have parity with the PlayStation 5 / Xbox Series X|S / Stadia versions of the game. This means that PC FIFA 23 players will be able to experience all new generation features and updates, including HyperMotion 2 Gameplay Technology, Advanced 11v11 Match Capture, Machine Learning, and more. With this upgrade to the PC version and other changes that we’ll get into below, we wanted to make sure to cover some of the most commonly asked questions about FIFA 23 on PC.

What are the system requirements for FIFA 23 on PC?

As you might expect from the PC version of FIFA 23 no longer being based on the previous console generation, system requirements have changed.

Minimum Requirements:

OS: Windows 10 64-bit

Processor: Intel Core i5 6600k or AMD Ryzen 5 1600

Memory: 8 GB RAM

Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 570

DirectX: Version 12

Network: Broadband Internet connection

Storage: 100 GB available space

Recommended Requirements:OS: Windows 10 64-bit

Processor: Intel Core i7 6700 or AMD Ryzen 7 2700X

Memory: 12 GB RAM

Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT

DirectX: Version 12

Network: Broadband Internet connection

Storage: 100 GB available space

Note that FIFA 23 on PC uses DirectX 12 exclusively and does not support DirectX 11.

On which PC digital storefronts will FIFA 23 be available?

The PC version of FIFA 23 launches on September 30, 2022, and will be digitally available through:

• Origin/EA app
• Steam
• Epic Games Store
• EA Play (Trial)

Does FIFA 23 support cross-play?

Yes, FIFA 23 supports cross-play with PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Stadia versions of the game being cross-play compatible. Additionally, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of FIFA 23 are cross-play compatible with one another. Here are the cross-play modes that the PC version of FIFA 23 will support at launch:

• FUT Division Rivals (except Co-Op)
• FUT Champions
• FUT Ultimate Online Draft
• FUT Online Friendlies (except Co-Op)
• FUT Play a Friend
• Online Friendlies
• Online Seasons (except Co-Op Seasons)

Cross-play will be enabled for all players when launching FIFA 23 for the first time, offering the largest matchmaking player pool in the modes listed above and it can be disabled at any time. To learn more about cross-play features in FIFA 23, check out our Deep Dive.

Does FIFA 23 have any new anticheat functionality on PC?

Yes, we are committed to providing a safe and fair experience for players, and with FIFA 23 on PC, we are debuting EA AntiCheat (EAAC). EAAC is a lightweight kernel-mode anticheat and anti-tamper solution developed by EA and reviewed by security development specialists unaffiliated to and independent of EA.

Our goal with EAAC is to protect the vast majority of players who are simply playing the game for fun from a minority group of kernel-based cheaters and cheat developers who want to engage in Terms of Service (TOS) breaking behaviour and negatively impact the game experience for everyone else. With the expansion of cross-play in FIFA 23, EAAC enables us to better protect console players from potential PC cheaters, too.To learn more about EA AntiCheat, check out our technical FAQ.

Does the inclusion of EA AntiCheat mean that FIFA 23 on PC requires a constant internet connection?

No, FIFA 23 on PC can be played offline, as long as EAAC is installed. Note that modes such as FUT, which require an online connection, will continue to be online-only experiences. 

How does EA AntiCheat work?

In short, EAAC will activate when you launch FIFA 23 and will automatically close itself when FIFA 23 is closed. It engages with third-party applications attempting to interact with FIFA 23 in order to prevent external files and software from being injected into the game. This means that cheats and other software modifications, including community mods, may not be functional. Unfortunately, kernel-level cheating in PC gaming has become more popular with cheat developers in recent times, and these cheats are largely invisible to alternative, non-kernel level anticheat solutions. Protecting single player modes is key to protecting online modes as well, since many cheat developers nefariously tamper with single player files in order to build their cheats. 

Additionally, EAAC will automatically uninstall itself when you uninstall FIFA 23, unless there is another EA game installed on the same computer that requires EAAC. 

Does EAAC let EA see my browsing history, personal files, or things like that?

Player privacy is a top concern of our Game Security & Anti-Cheat team. EAAC will only look at what it needs to for anti-cheat purposes in our games and we have limited the information EAAC collects. If you have a process on your PC that is trying to interact with FIFA 23, EAAC could see that and respond. However, everything else is off limits. 

Overall, EAAC’s use of your computer and data collection is consistent with EA’s User Agreement and Privacy and Cookie Policy and has been validated by independent, 3rd party security and privacy assessors. Check out our technical FAQ to learn more.

Is there anything else I should know about the PC version of FIFA 23?

• When launching FIFA 23, there will be no launcher asking you to play the game, check settings, or close the window like in previous FIFA titles. These options are available in-game.
• Like many other EA titles, FIFA 23 will install a version of the EA app which will run in the background when the game is running.
