The holidays are done, the regular season is behind us, and it’s crunch time. The NFL playoffs are here as the best teams remaining clash in their final push for a Lombardi Trophy.
There are some movers in the ratings following Week 17, but let’s change it up a bit. Here’s a look at the big names to watch heading into the playoffs, in the Wild Card Round and beyond.
Already among the elite 99s, Wagner has been a monster this season. A rep of the now dismantled Legion of Boom, Wagner remains the foundation of the Seattle defense. His three-point bump in Hit Power just makes him that much more effective in Madden.
Jackson has given the Ravens a new dynamic on offense. Even when not producing consistent rushing yards, his speed has to be answered for. We’ve seen mobile QBs light up defenses in the playoffs before. We could see the same from Jackson.
Patrick Mahomes has forced me to talk about him at great length this year. For good reason. He’s dominated teams this year and topped 5,000 yards his first year as a starter. Have a good look at the future of the NFL folks
Leonard should be the frontrunner for defensive rookie of the year. And, in all seriousness, he might be the most valuable rookie of this class. His intro into the NFL has been nothing short of stellar. Not only by climbing the Madden ratings, but by leading the NFL in tackles and providing a defensive presence the Colts have lacked for years. Indy’s return to the postseason is just as much on his effort as it is on Andrew Luck’s return. Maybe even more so.
Currently, Zack Martin is set to return to face Seattle in the Wild Card. His presence cannot be overstated for the Dallas offense. This is not only a tremendous boost to Ezekiel Elliott, but will lead to less pressure on Dak Prescott. The Dallas O-line is better than any other when healthy. With Martin back, Dallas will have an easier time getting the ground game moving and controlling the clock.
