GET BETTER WITHOUT MAKING IT A WHOLE THING

Getting better doesn’t have to be an endless grind. Most Apex improvement comes from a handful of habits. Build these habits and the game will start to slow down and make sense.

1. Warm up before you queue: Loosen up with a few minutes in the Firing Range before your first match. Run your primary weapon's recoil pattern, practice a few resets behind cover, fire off your Legend's Tactical and Ultimate a few times to remind yourself of its timing and utility.
2. Land with a plan: Pick a building, lane, or loot path and commit to it. Hot drops teach aggression but can be very frustrating if you’re new or out of practice. Land together in a quieter POI (Point of Interest) to give yourself 30-60 seconds to gear up before anyone finds you.
3. Loot for a fight: Grab guns, healing items, and keep moving. It’s more important to face your first few fights together as a squad than to spend time optimizing your starting loadout.
4. Fight from cover: If you cannot break line of sight in a couple of steps, you’re too exposed. Every fight goes better from behind a rock, a building corner, or a vehicle. Identify your retreat before you peek and engage.
5. Heal early and often: Heal whenever you have the window and you’ll begin learning the timing of healing items. The player who heals after the first shield crack and re-engages from a new angle beats the player who pushes with a cracked shield. 
6. Stay close enough to support: Distance is the most common mistake new players make. A knocked teammate at 50 meters has a shot at being revived. At 150 meters in a contested zone, the odds are against you. Stay together.
7. Learn each lesson as they come: Losing sucks, but it can teach you a lot. Ask yourself, what killed you most today? Greed, timing, position, or panic? One observation before closing the game can help you figure out where your weaknesses are.
