It’s not how you start; it’s how you finish, and for Charles “Do Bronx” Oliveira, finishing the fight is where he excels. After an up-and-down first half of his UFC career, he’d put all the pieces together, culminating in a TKO victory over Michael Chandler for the vacant Lightweight title at UFC 262.

There can only be one BMF, and at UFC 244 in Madison Square Garden, Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz threw down to decide who of the two was the baddest. Masvidal’s striking would prove too much for Stockton’s favorite son, as a gnarly cut forced a doctor’s stoppage between rounds.

After dropping the bantamweight belt to Aljamain Sterling due to an illegal knee, Yan would get the opportunity to fight for the interim strap against the dangerous and dynamic Cory Sandhagen. The two would go toe-to-toe for five rounds, with Yan taking the title and the duo going home with a well-earned Fight of the Night bonus.

Stephen Thompson’s first attempt at UFC gold took place on one of the biggest PPV events of all time, UFC 205. A thrilling back-and-forth five rounds would end in a draw, with welterweight champion Tyron Woodley retaining his title and both fighters’ stocks skyrocketing.

In his first and only UFC headlining spot, surging featherweight Zabit Magomedsharipov took on Calvin Kattar in a Fight of the Night worthy affair, claiming a decision victory. It would also be Magomedsharipov’s final professional fight, as he’d later retire, becoming one of the biggest “what-ifs” in MMA history.
