Building Your Legend Pool

BUILD A ROTATION

It’s useful to have a few Legends in your rotation. Sometimes you’ll need to fill a gap in squad composition, be in a different mood, or just want a break from your main. 

But with at least 3 Legends in rotation, each one with a different purpose, you’ll bring more flexibility to your squads and have more fun as you play.

The 3-slot setup

Slot 1: Your comfort pick

The Legend you can queue repeatedly and always get consistent results. You know them inside out: the Tactical timing, the Ultimate placement, and what the kit wants from you. Don’t chase the meta for this one, base it on your personal playstyle and what gives you the most consistent results.

Slot 2: Your pressure pick

The Legend who opens fights and lets you set the pace of combat. Octane's Launch Pad gives your whole squad an entry or exit for an aggressive push. Mad Maggie's Wrecking Ball Ultimate disrupts static holds and punishes squads camping buildings. Even healers like Conduit and Lifeline can help aggressive squads keep pushing.

Slot 3: Your squad value pick

The Legend who helps the team even when your aim is off. Conduit, Lifeline, and Newcastle are all solid support picks, Crypto and Bloodhound can also share valuable intel, while Wattson and Caustic lock down space.

Example pools to test

  • If you enjoy non-stop aggression: Mad Maggie, Octane, Lifeline. Different roles that can all be an essential part of an aggressive squad. Lifeline’s healing and auto-revives keep the push going.
  • If you want to fight on your terms: Bloodhound, Caustic, Vantage. Scans and traps can help you control or monitor the conditions before the fight starts.
  • If you want to flank to get the upper hand: Wraith, Bangalore, Pathfinder. Different playstyles, but all have different tools that can help create entrances, exits, or flanks.

These are starting points, but follow your instincts. The right pool is the one that keeps you useful while still having fun.

How to know if they’re the right Legend for you

You’ll know pretty quickly if a Legend belongs in your rotation. Things to ask when trying out a Legend:

  • Can you use the kit confidently under pressure?
  • Do you feel their Tactical solves real problems for you and your squad? 
  • Do you still feel useful in a rough match?

Sometimes a Legend is too situational for your playstyle, or only good in theory. If you’re not having fun, don’t force it.

Do this next

  • Pick your comfort, pressure, and squad-value Legends.
  • Run each one once in the Firing Range, then once in a real match.
  • Read Find Your Legend if one slot still feels empty.
