EA SPORTS FC™ 27 | FUT Developer Launch Update
October 1, 2026

Welcome to our first FUT Developer Notes for FC 27.
It’s been great to see you building your squads, trying out the new ways to play and progress, and sharing plenty of feedback along the way.
With the first few days of FC 27 behind us, we wanted to talk a little more about what we’re seeing across Ultimate Team, some of the conversations we’re following closely, and what the team is already working on.
Gameplay is also an important part of the Ultimate Team experience, so make sure to take a look at the recent Gameplay Developer Notes.

What We’re Seeing
It’s been exciting for us to see how players are taking to The Gallery. We’re seeing players share strategies, find creative ways to earn Set Grades, and get the Hall of FUT players they want most.
We want every addition to your Club to feel like a step forward, even if that player doesn’t go straight into your starting squad and we’re already seeing The Gallery help deliver on that goal.
Coin balances are more than 50% higher than at the same point last year and we’re seeing plenty of Transfer Market activity. We’re also seeing a higher share of Starting XI players being acquired directly through the Transfer Market.
It’s an encouraging early sign that having more flexibility is giving you more choice in how you build and improve your team.
Beyond the Transfer Market, we noticed many players are spending time with the new PvE Live Events. So far, Live Events are the third most played FUT experience behind Rivals and Squad Battles. We know having more ways to play matters, and we’ll continue building on Live Events as the year progresses.
Finally, more than 350,000 players have already linked their EA Account with authorized community partner sites like FUT.GG, FUTBIN and FUTWIZ. We’ve loved seeing what those sites are already building with the data, and we’re looking forward to giving them more to work with over time.
What We’re Hearing From You
One of the biggest conversations we’re following right now is around Evolutions and the broader pace of squad upgrades.
We know how important Evolutions are for keeping the players you care about in your squad. This year, we’ve made meaningful changes to the tuning of Evolutions as part of our broader goal of maintaining a balance across the different ways you can upgrade your squads, including Evolutions, game mode rewards, SBCs, the Transfer Market, and more.
Evolutions remain an important part of the FUT experience, and we’ll continue to monitor feedback in this area closely throughout the year.
Streamlined SBCs have also been a big part of the early conversation, with many players appreciating the reduced friction when completing SBCs. We’re also seeing great quality-of-life suggestions, including requests to mark or favourite players you want to ensure you don’t accidentally submit into an SBC. Keep these suggestions coming, as we expect to continue improving Streamlined SBCs over time.
We know the balance between rewards earned across FUT and what appears in the Store matters a lot. This year, we’ve taken a more focused approach to Store offers, with fewer offers, and changes to how those offers are structured.
A similar philosophy carries through to our Campaign squads, where we’re taking a more focused approach with smaller squads and a tighter OVR spread than in previous years. Our goal is to increase the likelihood that any Campaign squad item can earn a place in your starting XI, and we’re encouraged by the early Transfer Market price distribution, with fewer items trading at or near discard compared to similar releases in previous years.
We’re also watching how the increased end-of-match rewards feel over time, particularly as players reach daily SP limits and hit weekly game mode reward milestones. The goal is simple, even after you’ve reached a major reward threshold, playing another match should still feel like it moves your Club forward.
What We’re Working On
On 28 September, we brought Streamlined SBCs to the Companion App, making it easier to complete and manage SBCs when you’re away from your console or PC.
We know how much of your squad management happens away from the console or PC, so having Streamlined SBCs available on the Companion App should make completing and managing SBCs much easier.
Now that it’s in your hands, we’ll keep building on it with more quality-of-life improvements based on your feedback.
Building on the early response to PvE Live Events, we have plans to add additional capabilities as we move through the opening Seasons. The same is true for end-of-match rewards. What you’re seeing today is the starting point, and we have more ways to reward playing matches planned for later in the year.
As we move into upcoming Campaigns, we’ll keep a close eye on how the previously mentioned smaller, more focused squads are landing and how long new Player Items continue to feel meaningful in your Club.
Gallery will continue to grow through new Sets and Token Store updates, and we’re continuing to collect feedback and work through known issues as we look to enhance your experience.
And for those of you using partner sites, we’re working toward making more FUT data available through those integrations. The early popularity of those tools tells us they are already becoming a meaningful part of how some players plan and manage their Clubs, and we’re excited to see where that can go next.
We’ll keep you posted as we make progress, with more to share in the weeks ahead. We’ll also be hosting a FUT specific Q&A in the Official EA SPORTS FC Discord, stay tuned for an official date and time announcement. You can also continue to share your FUT 27 feedback through the Player Feedback Portal.
