Cobalt Lavaback
Ecology
Just as there are eccentrics among humans, so too do they exist in the Kemono world. And there can be no better example than the Jōdozaru, or Cobalt Lavaback. Despite being covered in simmering magma, the beast chooses to inhabit arctic territories, taking apparent delight in melting the snow and ice to create searing hot springs in which it likes to soak.
Strategy
The Cobalt Lavaback hides underground and strikes from out of sight with surprise attacks. However, the key is to remain calm when it disappears from view, and scan your surroundings for signs of where it might reappear. The Kemono is vulnerable to attack in the brief moment after it bursts out of hiding, and its skin is softer than that of the regular Lavaback, too. Take note of that, and with attrition, the hunt can be yours.
