WARLORDS TAKE OVER PAX ARMATA
Weak, compromised, paranoid - Pax Armata is fractured after Operation Augur. When Warlords rise to fill their ranks, will the return of Dagger 1-3 be the final strike NATO needs to end the War of 2027?
All of this, and more, will be decided on the largest Battlefield 6 map yet, while the best in REDSEC are called to begin their reign in the inaugural Ranked Battle Royale season.

Battlefield 6 and REDSEC Season 3 begins on May 12 at 4 a.m. PT (12 p.m. UTC), as Pax Warlords wage war with NATO, initiating a global assault that pushes every elite squad to their limit.
Season 3 will be released in three parts: after the release of the initial Season 3 update, Warlords: Supremacy, on May 12th, expect the release of the Blastpoint Update on June 9 and High-Value Target Update on June 30, as the war escalates to the return of Naval Warfare later in Season 4.
The required Season 3 update (Game Update 1.3.1.0) for Battlefield 6 and REDSEC will also introduce hundreds of gameplay improvements, fixes, and individual updates including:
- A major overhaul to vehicle handling.
- A broad pass on Gadgets, especially the launchers.
- Balance changes across weapons.
- The introduction of an in-game seasonal statistics page
- Improvements to netcode and combat feedback
Technical information about this patch is published in the “Game Updates” section of our website here. We also encourage you to join us on the Battlefield official Discord server for additional Community Updates, as well as to find your squad for everything Season 3 has to offer.
With all that in mind, here is everything you need to know about Season 3:

NEW SEASON 3 LAUNCH CONTENT ACROSS BATTLEFIELD 6 AND REDSEC

The Season 3 arsenal is built from legendary weapons from Battlefield’s past: the trio available for free in the Battle Pass hail from Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4.
NEW ASSAULT RIFLE: M16A4
A highly-customizable iconic Battlefield assault rifle, with fully-automatic and burst-fire capabilities, and a carry-handle option for iron sights. This rifle excels in mid to short-mid range combat.
In short, the M16A4 has a 20-plus year Battlefield franchise tenure because of its pure reliability. Expect its rate of fire to sit around the average for Assault rifles with a fast reload time; those familiar with the M433 and B36A4 may find a happy medium in this fellow Western all-around rifle chambered in 5.56x45mm.
Those who know their history may want to try slapping on a high magnification scope, as elite special force operators tend to switch where that carry-handle goes…
NEW LMG: RPK-74M
A powerful complement to the RPKM. This LMG is ideal for longer-range combat, with minimal recoil and lower damage than other LMGs.
Chambered in the intermediate 5.45x39mm cartridge, the RPK-74M boasts a faster rate of fire than its fellow RPK, albeit with significantly less stopping power. It can technically outperform the RPKM at long-range due to being easier to handle, but with the right attachments, it can also have a home in mid-range engagements alongside nimbler rifles.
If you rather not consider this a step down from the RPKM, think of this Pax Armata’s answer to the DRS-IAR, which remains as a strong option for mobile LMG users.
NEW SNIPER RIFLE: L115
A deadly bolt-action sniper rifle compatible with multiple hardware attachments. The L115 excels in long to very-long range combat.
You don’t “Need Only One” to get your hands on this high-performance British sniper, which will rival the likes of the PSR on day one of Season 3 and beyond. Temper those expectations at fisticuffs range, because the L115 is meant for picking off folks hundreds of meters away, whether they are on the objective, piloting a helicopter, or get too cute with their mountainside hiding spot.
We are ready to see what incredible shots are made with this new powerhouse at Season 3 launch, so bookmark this “Only in Battlefield” clip submission page and get ready to send in those moments when they happen.
THREE NEW ATTACHMENTS

Across new weapons and launch-day favorites, primaries and secondaries alike, the Speed Holster, Aftermarket Buffer, and Burst Mode attachments are sure to make convincing arguments to take up some of your Attachment Points.
Speed Holster
Need to be quicker on the draw when switching from your Primary Weapon? This low-cost attachment improves weapon draw speed and is available to almost all Sidearms.
Aftermarket Buffer
The Aftermarket Buffer attachment helps with weapon recoil: rather than reduce horizontal or vertical effects, it allows your in-game soldier to fight the visual flinching and other effects. You may not realize how much natural compensation happens after firing a shot, but after using an Aftermarket Buffer, you will literally see its effects in action.
Burst Mode
Most notably on the new M16A4, but also available on other weapons such as several SMGs, Burst Mode removes the full-auto functionality of a weapon in favor of burst fire. This is immensely helpful for landing precise shots at longer distances, which can be a force to be reckoned with on larger maps. Keep in mind, though, that the Attachment Cost of this modification varies depending on how much it improves each weapon, so prepare to make some sacrifices if you choose this attachment.
BRACE FOR BLASTPOINT ON JUNE 9

Season 3 continues from another angle of the NATO and Pax Armata war: although it seemed Pax forces fled to Egypt on the backfoot, the Tier 1 unit Steel Talon established a stronghold in the Cairo Bazaar.
NEW BATTLEFIELD 6 SEASON 3 BLASTPOINT CONTENT
An instant classic from Battlefield 3 meets an explosive competitive Multiplayer mode from Battlefield 4 - for those who did not experience some of the franchise’s greatest hits of the early 2010’s, lock and load for high octane infantry combat.
NEW MAP: CAIRO BAZAAR
A reimagined version of Grand Bazaar from Battlefield 3, this lively marketplace in the heart of Cairo is packed with alleys and innovative tactical opportunities for high-intensity close-quarters combat. All the action takes place in and around a single city block, with an outer perimeter road for small vehicle traffic and flanking opportunities.
With a mirrored map design that grants NATO and Pax Armata similar pathways, shortcuts, and chokepoints, every squad becomes a merchant of destruction.
NEW MODE: OBLITERATION
The iconic BF4 multiplayer experience returns with a new epic evolution. Obliteration is a battle to destroy enemy M-COMs (Military Communications) using bombs placed neutrally on each map. Both sides must risk everything to get the bomb, escort their carrier to the detonation site, and obliterate the enemy.
NEW SEASON 3 BLASTPOINT CONTENT ACROSS BATTLEFIELD 6 AND REDSEC
Light up the competition to get rewards in the limited-time Bonus Path Event Explosive Charge, featuring the new PP-19 SMG. In addition, Recon soldiers get a new Gadget to assist special operations behind enemy lines.

NEW SMG: PP-19

A formidable SMG reborn: featuring an optional high-capacity helical magazine, the PP-19 is a 9x19mm SMG that carves up squads at short-range. First released in Battlefield 2, with a futuristic version released in Battlefield 2042, the PP-19’s reputation as a steady damage-dealer extends into the past, present, and future.
NEW GADGET: HANDHELD JAMMER
Jam the enemy signal. The Handheld Jammer is a Recon Gadget that disrupts nearby smart/electronic devices for a short period of time. Once activated, it can either be thrown - or placed - in an area to provide localized malfunctions, or carried around to turn a Recon soldier into a mobile nuisance.
TWO NEW BLASTPOINT ATTACHMENTS
Nothing says “blastpoint” like #00 Buckshot, to be made available for all Shotguns, while the Cryogenic Barrel attachment is set to provide a mix of mobility and accuracy to most weapons when equipped.
#00 Buckshot
Double-aught buckshot is similar to the standard shot in every Battlefield 6 and REDSEC shotgun, albeit with slightly larger pellets and less pellets per shot. If you rather not shoot a single slug, but still want more range and less spread than regular buckshot, then #00 is your #1 ammunition choice to spend those Attachment Points on.
Cryogenic Barrels
When state-of-the-art cryogenic technology meets a hard steel barrel, it creates a temperature barrier that helps a weapon better withstand standard operating friction and combustion. In other words, Cryogenic Barrels are tempered for better accuracy over sustained fire without being heavier than the factory standard version, which grants soldiers faster aim down sight times compared to using a heavier barrel.
ENGAGE THE HIGH-VALUE TARGET ON JUNE 30

Season 3’s final phase brings Tactical Obliteration into Battlefield 6, the debut of Casual Battle Royale in REDSEC, and a new Wet Work event centered around becoming the ultimate contract-driven mercenary.
NEW BATTLEFIELD 6 MULTIPLAYER MODE: TACTICAL OBLITERATION
Tactical Obliteration takes the classic Obliteration mode and emphasizes individual squad play through an 8v8 grudge match. This competitive, high stakes experience is meant for squads who mastered coordinated objective play. With only one other squad to rely on, how will your squad step up and blow away the competition?
NEW REDSEC MODE: CASUAL BATTLE ROYALE
Every elite Battle Royale squad has to start somewhere: for those looking to learn the rules of engagement, practice their skills, or simply kick back with the squad, Casual Battle Royale adds a player-and-bot mixed combatant environment.
LIMITED-TIME BONUS PATH EVENT: WET WORK
Collect contracts from downed enemies and complete its orders to earn rewards, including the new melee weapon coming in High-Value Target. Work with your squad to take down additional enemies, destroy vehicles, or simply survive long enough to finish the contract and progress through the Bonus Path.
NEW MELEE WEAPON: EOD BOT ARM
For the Engineer with unconventional means of destruction, or for any soldier ready to use whatever armaments necessary for the job, the EOD Bot Arm this melee weapon is ready to lend a hand on the Battlefield.
TWO NEW HIGH-VALUE TARGET ATTACHMENTS
Gain better control of recoil or slip under the sound barrier with two new attachments coming at the end of Season 3.
Compensator
Slotting in with other muzzle attachments, the Compensator is similar to the Flash Compensator attachment from Season 2 Hunter / Prey, albeit without its flash hiding feature.
Subsonic Ammo
Stay under the radar with a new ammunition type: travelling just below the speed of sound, Subsonic Ammo is noticeably softer when fired, which reduces spot visibility and audible cues that enemies typically pick up on at longer ranges.
