World of Chel Season 2 is Now Live!

Season 2 is here, bringing new rewards, gameplay tuning, and a festive event to close out the fall. Here’s everything you need to know before you hit the ice.

Season 2 Season Pass

A new Season Pass has arrived, packed with fresh gear, customization items, X-Factors, and rewards to earn throughout the season. Progress through tiers, complete objectives, and show off your style on the ice.

Loadout Adjustments

We’ve made adjustments to balance World of Chel loadouts for a more even playing field across all game modes.

X-Factor AP Updates

We increased the AP cost of several high-impact X-Factors to better match their influence on gameplay. These changes raise the investment required for abilities that consistently swing possession, create separation, or deliver heavy contact.

Elite Tier Changes

• Wheels: 75 AP to 85 AP
• Elite Edges: 75 AP to 85 AP
• Second Wind: 75 AP to 85 AP
• Truculence: 55 AP to 85 AP

All-Star Tier Changes

• Wheels: 35 AP to 55 AP
• Elite Edges: 35 AP to 55 AP
• Second Wind: 35 AP to 55 AP
• Truculence: 30 AP to 55 AP

This update raises the AP ceiling on the strongest X-Factors so players need to make more deliberate choices when building out their loadouts. Wheels and Truculence see the biggest increases, and Elite Edges and Second Wind now carry higher costs across both tiers.

Your loadout may need to be updated. If this is the case, you’ll see an in-game message and your loadouts will reset to default. From there, you can re-customize to your liking.

These updates ensure every X-Factor choice comes with more meaningful trade-offs, encouraging smarter builds and more variety across competitive play.

Gameplay Tuner Update

Season 2 also brings a new gameplay tuner focused on refining defensive balance.

• Firstly for poke checks, we reduced the skating penalty applied during poke checks, allowing defenders to stay more engaged in the play instead of getting left behind. This update focuses on the first two poke checks a player attempts in a sequence. Movement reduction is lowered by 50% for those first two attempts and then returns to normal so the system still discourages spamming. You should feel more able to stay in the chase against puck carriers and take away space while using those initial poke checks.

Objectives are your most effective route to advancing through the Season Pass, providing XP rewards across numerous objectives.

In Season 2, you'll discover fresh sets of Weekly and Season objectives. Additionally, Event and My Playoff objectives will appear on key dates, presenting exciting opportunities to accelerate your progress with extra Season Pass XP Rewards. Keep a keen eye out for these valuable opportunities!

New Themed Characters

Two new seasonal loadouts have joined the lineup: the Ice Queen and the Frost Guardian.

Ice Queen

Loadout Type: Playmaker

X-Factors: Tape to Tape (Elite), Send It (Elite), Second Wind (All-Star)

Character Description: Glacia Frostwind glides across the ice with speed, agility, and precision. Her swift passes and puck control set up highlight-reel plays, but her light frame sacrifices balance and strength in physical battles.

Frost Guardian

Loadout Type: Butterfly Goalie

X-Factors: Sponge (Elite), Post To Post (Elite), Dialed In (All-Star)

Character Description: Frost Guardian is a Butterfly Goalie whose towering frame and ability to stop low shots make him nearly impenetrable. His rebound control and mastery of angles embody the spirit of sentinel, though he lacks agility and struggles with breakaways. Don’t expect a quick recovery time.

X-Factors Store Update

Starting November 20 at 10 AM PT, X-Factors that were previously available in the Season 1 Season Pass will be made available for purchase in the World of Chel Store for those who missed the opportunity to earn them.

This update gives you a second chance to add key abilities to your collection while ensuring early adopters keep the value of their original unlocks.
