UNVEILING THE F1® 25 DRIVER RATINGS

2025年5月8日

Driver Ratings for each of the 20 F1® drivers have just dropped ahead of F1® 25’s launch on May 30 for PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

What are Driver Ratings?

Whilst it would have been funny to let our resident ‘Chief Ratings Officer’ Ariana Bravo make the final call, it’s our team at EA SPORTS and Codemasters who have crunched the numbers to determine the Driver Ratings for each of those on this year’s Formula 1® grid.

Combining historical sporting data, recent performances, and consultation from TV commentators and pundits, each driver’s rating influences how their AI performs when racing alongside them on the track. These stats are especially important in this year’s My Team mode, as you’ll be selecting two drivers to represent your team. You can read more about those changes here

Despite these Driver Ratings are set in stone for the launch of F1® 25, they will be updated periodically throughout the year, dynamically changing based on real–world performance.

What does each Rating category mean?

Multiple factors make up each driver’s Overall rating. These are broken down as follows:

  • Experience (EXP): More races equals a higher score. Rookies can be expected to have a lower experience score as the number of F1 races and finishing positions have a bigger impact.
  • Racecraft (RAC): If this driver has shown their ability in working through the pack, they’ll have a higher Racecraft score. Considerations are given based on their ability to finish the race higher than where they started.
  • Awareness (AWA): Awareness rewards drivers who avoid the stewards' room. A more severe penalty will have a greater impact on how Awareness is adjusted.
  • Pace (PAC): The Pace stat reflects how close a driver is to matching the fastest Race and Qualifying lap times for each race weekend, and how that compares to their teammate.
  • Overall Rating (RTG): Combining these stats together, an Overall rating is given with Pace having the biggest impact.

How did the F1® 25 cover stars do?

With three cover stars on F1® 25’s Standard Edition and a seven-time World Champion on the Iconic Edition, here’s how they stack up:

Lewis Hamilton

A true icon of the sport, Lewis Hamilton has been a trend-setter and record-breaker throughout his entire career. Now in his first season with the legendary Scuderia Ferrari, he has already tasted success with pole and victory at this year’s Sprint race for the Chinese Grand Prix.

Lewis starts out F1® 25 with an overall RTG of 89, the 6th highest rated driver at launch.

Carlos Sainz

The Smooth Operator has built up a reputation for himself as a very smart, calculated and consistent driver, capable of extracting everything from his car. After years of strong performances at McLaren and Ferrari, he is now focused on Williams’ return to glory alongside Alex Albon.

Carlos will begin his virtual season with the 5th highest score on the grid, and an overall RTG of 90. His Racecraft is the joint-highest on the grid at 96; he’ll be a tough opponent on-track.

Oscar Piastri

Three seasons into his career, Oscar Piastri is building towards a Drivers’ Championship charge this season with McLaren, after helping them win the Constructors’ in 2024. Famously calm under the intense pressure of Formula 1®, he rarely makes mistakes and with the MCL39 under his control will be a formidable opponent, or an inspired addition to your team.

Oscar starts out this season with an overall RTG of 87, with plenty of room to grow as he gets closer to the top.

Oliver Bearman

He may only be in his first full season, but Oliver Bearman’s got quite the story to tell so far. In 2024 he was the ‘super sub’ of the paddock, filling in for Carlos Sainz at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix to score points for Ferrari on his debut, and repeating the feat later on at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix for Haas.

His standout performances in the most challenging of conditions earned him a full-time seat at Haas for 2025, beginning his F1® 25 career with an overall RTG of 74.
