BioWare has created some of the world's bestselling titles, including the award-winning Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights series, as well as the 2003 Game of the Year, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Original BioWare-created IPs include Jade Empire, a martial arts action role-playing game and the 2005 RPG of the Year.
BioWare also developed Mass Effect, a science fiction action RPG for Xbox 360, and released Dragon Age: Origins, a fantasy role-playing game, in late 2009. Mass Effect 2 launched in early 2010 and is one of the highest rated games in Xbox 360 platform history with a 96 Metacritic rating. In March 2012, Mass Effect 3 launched and continued the franchise legacy of great game development by garnering over 75 perfect review scores. BioWare Edmonton was named as one of Canada's top 100 Employers in 2009 and continues to be known as the place to develop the best story-driven games in the industry.
