What Is Madden Ultimate Team?

Madden Ultimate Team lets you build a custom NFL roster featuring current players and NFL legends. Earn Player Items, improve your lineup, and take your team into solo challenges or games against other players.

Each Player Item has an Overall Rating, or OVR, based on its in-game attributes. New and upgraded Player Items are released throughout the year through Seasons, Programs, and special Events.

How do I build my Madden Ultimate Team?

Play games, complete Challenges and Objectives, progress through passes and Events, and exchange eligible items in Sets to earn rewards. Rewards can include Coins, Packs, Player Items, and resources that help you improve your roster.

What kind of player items can I earn in Madden Ultimate Team?

New Player Items featuring current NFL players and legends are released throughout the year. These items may have higher OVRs, different attributes, new abilities, chemistry options, or unique upgrade paths. You can add them to your lineup or use eligible items in Sets to earn other rewards.

How do player upgrades work in Madden Ultimate Team?

Eligible Player Items can be upgraded using Skill Points. Skill Points can be earned or acquired in different ways depending on the Player Item. Some may offer objectives that reward Skill Points, while others may require in-game currencies, exchanges, or a combination of these methods.

You can upgrade multiple tiers at once instead of unlocking each tier individually. Some upgrades also let you choose between different archetypes, abilities, or paths, allowing two versions of the same Player Item to develop in different ways.

How do Evos work?

Evos are special upgrades that can be applied to eligible Player Items.

Depending on the Evo, it may increase a Player Item’s maximum OVR, unlock new upgrade paths, add or improve abilities, or expand chemistry options. Some eligible Player Items may also be able to receive more than one Evo over time.

Each Evo has its own eligibility requirements and available improvements.

What are Ultimate Team Captains?

The Ultimate Captain is an all-new feature that creates the foundation of your roster. Choose one core player you’re passionate about and carry them with you throughout the entire year. It can be your favorite player, someone who fits your playstyle, or just a player that you have on your roster that you’d like to designate as your Captain for the year. You can upgrade your Captain as you progress, and you can power them down and choose a different eligible Captain later.

What else can I do in Madden Ultimate Team?

You can complete solo Challenges, play offline modes, compete against other players in Head-to-Head games, climb the Ranked ladder, and participate in themed Programs and Events throughout the year.
