See the new Meteorology Center
August 11, 2026
Hey Mayors,
Want to admire your skyline at sunset, light up your streets at midnight, or capture the perfect daytime city photo without waiting for the day-night cycle?
The new Meteorology Center gives you access to Time of Day Controls, allowing you to set the atmosphere of each city Region exactly how you like it. Choose from quick presets for sunrise, high noon, sunset, and midnight, adjust the time more precisely, and pause the day-night cycle to keep your favourite lighting.

Time settings are saved separately for each Region, so your Capital City could remain under a glowing sunset while another Region continues through its normal day-night cycle.

Beyond its special functionality, the Meteorology Center is also a striking technological landmark that fits perfectly alongside your city’s most advanced buildings.
Questions and Answers
Does the Meteorology Center need to remain placed for Time of Day Controls to work?
No. Once the feature’s unlocking requirements are met, you can also access Time of Day Controls through the Photo Sharing and Submit Design screens, as well as directly from the Design Challenge interface. This means you can store the Meteorology Center after building it and continue using the feature. The building can be placed again later, with a limit of one per Region.
What city level is required to acquire it?
The exact minimum level is Level 7.
Can it be placed outside the Capital City?
Yes. You can place one Meteorology Center in each Region, including your Capital City.
Does changing the time affect city gameplay?
No. Traffic, weather, production timers, and other gameplay systems continue normally. The controls only change the time of day and lighting.
Will other Mayors see my selected time when visiting?
Yes. When time is paused in a Region, visiting Mayors will see the time you selected.
What will the Meteorology Centre cost?
The Meteorology Centre is free to build, with a limit of one in each Region, including the Capital City.
Get ready to show your city in its best light, Mayors!
