EA-Wide Maintenance Scheduled For Tuesday

A number of EA's services will be temporarily unavailable on Tuesday, January 31 as we undergo a brief scheduled maintenance.

If you play a game that requires you to log in to our servers, such as Battlefield 3 or Need for Speed The Run, you will need to wait until the maintenance period has concluded to begin playing again. Star Wars: The Old Republic will be offline for slightly longer due to a separate scheduled maintenance. EA games that can be played in Offline Mode should remain playable.

Users will be unable to log in to the Origin client, Online Multi-Player game lobbies, or the Origin store while maintenance is taking place. As a result, you will be unable to purchase games or redeem codes during the maintenance window.

Maintenance is scheduled to begin at 12:00 a.m. PST and end at 3:00 a.m. PST on January 31, 2012.

As we work to improve our service to the EA community, we’d like to thank you again for your patience and support. If you have a question about any of our games or services, you can visit our database of frequently asked questions at the EA Help Center. Please note that live assistance will not be available until after maintenance has concluded.

its 8:18, guys same thing! I think they meant to type EST instead, because if they started earlier it would give gamers a shorter window of waiting.

I'm glad they're making improvements. I can live without video games for three hours.

I cannot download any of the "store"-materials from The Sims Homepage :-( Is that a maintenance-related problem ? I have no problem downloading from The Sims Exchange, so it ain't my program which is malfunctioning......

EA is an American company and they consider the US to be their main customer base (which may or may not be true, based on sales). By using any single timezone, they are only including about 20% of the US, so 80% in the US, plus everyone outside that single timezone, will need to spend 30 seconds checking Google (http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html) etc. It's not really a big deal, but it really wouldn't have taken them much effort to give a simple table showing the world time zones. Or even a little flash map - you click on your locale and it tells you how much longer you have to wait. It's just not very good customer service, but it's not a really BIG deal. Oh, and if there were a logical single timezone to use, it would be UTC, not GMT.

I hope at least u can do something about mav climbing or killing with mav, u should even consider remove mav completely... it's really killing the game and making me feel so very unrealistic, for years on BF2 u never solve c4 jumping hopefully u do something about that. no need to mention bout aims n hacks...
