Early SWTOR Access To Begin December 13

The end of the Beta for Star Wars: The Old Republic left more than a few of us with lightsaber separation anxiety. Thankfully, the cure is on the way! Starting Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at 6:00 a.m. CST, BioWare will begin granting early access to players who pre-ordered the MMO earlier this year.

While Star Wars: The Old Republic won’t open to the general public until December 20, 2011, the Early Game Access period will give pre-ordering players up to seven days of pre-launch play. If you participated in the Beta, you already know that’s plenty of time to choose your class, don some gear, and work your way up to your very first force weapon – a must for any self-respecting Sith or Jedi.

In order to help players prepare for Early Game Access, BioWare has also launched an official pre-load period. Gamers who pre-ordered Star Wars: The Old Republic will soon receive an email (if they haven’t already) with instructions on how to download and install the game on their machine.

If you weren’t one of the 725,000 players to join the Beta in November, and you still haven’t pre-ordered Star Wars: The Old Republic, this is your last chance to play before the official game start day. Pre-order your copy on Origin today for pre-load and early access, 30 days of game subscription time, and a free Color Stone to fancy up your saber or blaster.

Accept I purchased off of this site (origins) and associated that pre-purchase with my swtor.com account months ago, now it says I need to do it again to get early access, but here's the kicker, when I use the digital code given to me it says it's ALREADY IN USE! This is absolutely and completely a lie and a rip off. I'm furious at this company and it's inability to deliver what it says it is selling you.

I think this is as intended, reading a bunch of different sites there are 2 types of redeem codes. The first one you get when you pre-order that charges you the $5 to hold the pre-order. This gets you a redeem code, but a second code should be sent out "Dec 16th" with a second game code.... Could be wrong but this is the way i am understanding it. Not sure who is getting access on 12/13 but it doesn't appear to be orgin pre-orders....

I have to eat my words, after hours of searching and trying to get through to someone that actually knew what they were talking about (which was support-swtor.com, as EA support didnt have a clue, and swtor's phone has been down the last 24 hours) I recieved a coherent email response from a droid that explains: "you do not need the pre-purchase code to play early. The pre-purchase code is for launch". So, er, why did I need to pre-purchase again? Doh, oh well, sometimes confusion brings out the worst in me. In any case, my very sincere apologies to origins and EA.

I hope this helps someone else out there! This is the email I recieved: ======================================================================================== Greetings, I am Protocol Droid M0-T0 of Human-Cyborg relations. Thank you for contacting us with a code redemption issue. Please be aware that the five ‘Get Ready to Play’ steps located in your Account Management page are relevant to game access at Launch. It is necessary for you to complete these steps in order to play on and after the 20th of December. The Product Key required during these steps is the key that you will be supplied with at Launch. Currently you should only have an Early Access key if you pre-ordered. Anybody that has redeemed an Early Access code will be able to play the game during Early Access without following all of these steps. In order to confirm that you are qualified for Early Game Access please login to your Account and click on Pre-Order in the Account Management section. You should see the Star Wars: The Old Republic Early Access window. In this window you should see your confirmed access with the corresponding Pre-Order items (Color Stone for example). If you are sure that you have redeemed your Pre-Order Code but you do not see a confirmation of the Early Game Access or any of the granted items, we would request that you contact our customer service team with an image of your pre-order code to verify the exact nature of the problem. ========================================================================================

On the ORIGIN Client i can`t download the Digital Deluxe Edition. That my only problem. Where i go on christmas vacation - they have not highspeed internet connections. Why they can't give free the download? O.K. that was my comment to the community. By.

So i guess they send out emails to let you know when you can actually use your pre-order in the "order they were purchased". So why should the people that have to wait longer for their early access have to pay the same price as the ones who were let in earlier? If you can't play until a day or two before the rest of the world, it's a total scam. So far, the way things are going, EA and Bioware are getting a big thumbs down on how this is set up.

So it seems I activated my early access and deleted my email by mistake. I thought I had activated my game, come to find I cant log in, no one has any record of my purchase and customer service is so bogged down I dont expect to get any assistance any time soon. When I do get a reply I assume it will be the generic "go look up your history on origin" response. I was happy with ToR up until today, now I'm just livid.
