EA Summer Sale POSTED BY EA Staff ON Jun 30, 2011

EA’s Biggest Sale Ever On July 4th

In celebration of America’s birthday weekend, we present the biggest EA sale ever. For the first time, we’re offering huge sales on games across many platforms including Origin, the iPhone, iPad, Xbox Live Marketplace, and more. Now when the summer heat wears you down, you can relax inside and play games to your heart's content.

Find deals on our biggest titles like Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, SHIFT 2 UNLEASHED, The Sims 3, FIFA 11, and Dead Space 2. We’ll have 10 Xbox Live games with their prices slashed in half!

You can also get almost 50 games on the App Store for just $0.99 each. That’s just about everything EA has to offer for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad – up to 90% off, like Dead Space and NBA JAM for the iPhone. Amusment park lines aren't half as bad when you can spend the time dismembering necromorphs.

In fact, all of our sales will be between 40% and 90%, with the great majority over 50% off. A sale like this doesn’t come around very often, so enjoy it while it lasts!

Check out the full list of sales below.

If anyone working at EA reads this pay attention please. Your sale prices are more expensive that retail prices. Should be ashamed to call this a sale. You changed your name to Origin to compete with Steam. The main way to compete is price. With these prices you have no chance of overtaking Steam.

Also not releasing *** for Hot Pursuit on the PC is a disgrace. Shows that you aren't thinking of the customers. We have the money to spend, give us a reason to spend it here.

@Komedy1971 July 4th Sale: Independence Day in the US, not a Holiday in the EU. Seems to make sense.

@CaptainSidekick - then don't declare it as "the biggest EA sale ever" if only part of the world can take part. Also can we not In celebrate along with America. Seriously this is why Origin will NEVER EVER Challenge STEAM. The marketing and PR people at EA are clueless. In the EU there are millions being spent on games over at Steam and the EA dummies have missed the boat by limiting this "largest sale ever" to the US. /facepalm EA

I agree that these prices are higher than Steam but the title is "EA's biggest sale ever", not "The biggest video game sale ever".

Not if you want to compete with Steam. This strategy will not succeed.

Epic Fail, No MAC releases... you just lost money on ALL your sims games on sale. I also agree with Kimtastic, Your prices on more than half of your games are ABOVE retail. Get it together please...

Wrong. These aren't sales. Even in the U.S. Sorry EA but your going to have to do better with your "origin" to compete with steam. Example: Complete Valve pack is currently 50$ for about 10+ games(and includes portal 2). Not to mention all the other awesome deals going on. Why would we buy anything through Origin? Seriously would suggest a better marketing measure for Origin if you ever hope to get into Digital Distribution the 'right' way.

I noticed no psn love. also agreed with @Komedy1971. Digital copies only available in NA as well, you can't even match the lowest prices of steam. If I am not mistaken they had BF:BC2 for $6.99 during their Christmas sale, All i ask is you keep offering your games through steam. Plus not happy that I get an email that says my password was changed and no reason why. I had to go digging to find out that because I was in a beta for battlefield heroes that got hacked you reset that. Talk about about

not to worry EUites, maybe they'll have a "EU Bankruptcy" sale for you ;) seriously though, it IS a 4th of July sale, not a "World happy day" sale. last i checked the rest of the world doesn't give a squat about 4th of july.

I've never seen more people complain about a sale. As it happens, there's nothing on sale this weekend that I particularly want or need for my specific platform at the moment. I do not intend to boycott the company over this, nor do I have any immediate plans to have this adversely affect my life. Thanks, EA, for putting these items on sale. Much appreciated. :)

Will these prices be available on Xbox Live marketplace as well? It would make me happy if Battlefield 1943 dropped to 10 bucks on Xbox live

This is Indepencence Day in the USA. On Pogo.com the banner has a Canadian flag instead of a US flag! Please correct this strange phenomenon!

Why couldn't you put all games 10% or 20% off instead of these lame titles for 40% off. why not have a sale that appeals to all customers and make everyone happy this weekend...just a thought.
