Get New Features For FIFA 11 Ultimate Team! - UPDATED

 Two free new features will soon be added to FIFA 11 Ultimate Team. Read on to find out when that will happen and what you need to do to get in on the action.

Your FIFA 11 Ultimate Team experience is about to get even better! A huge array of refinements will be made to the game, along with two all-new features:

Play-A-Friend Challenge enables you to test your skills against your friends’ Ultimate Teams, even when they’re not online. Take on your friends’ teams whenever you like with the CPU controlling their squads. Results are recorded and presented to your friends the next time they log onto their consoles. Now you can prove who has the best Ultimate Team whenever you are ready to play. Plus, when you return to your console, you can see who played your team and gloat about wins or get revenge by playing a rematch.

Friends Leaderboards allows you to automatically compare your progress in FIFA 11 Ultimate Team against your friends with personalised leaderboards. You’ll be able to find your personalised leaderboard as a menu option within FIFA Ultimate Team on your console. Friends Leaderboards includes the ability to track who among you and your friends has the best squad of players, the number of coins earned, the number of trades undertaken and the overall value of your club.

What You Need To Know

Service Outage: In order to deliver these new features to your console, we will need to bring the current Ultimate Team servers offline for a while. This will happen at slightly different times depending on where you are and whether you use an Xbox 360 or a PlayStation 3, but will occur between 18:00 GMT on Tuesday 15th February and 22:00pm on Thursday 17th February.

FIFA 11 Game Update: While the servers are offline, we will release a game update for FIFA 11 to enable the new features of Ultimate Team (the update will not affect any other part of the game). This will be an automatic update and you will be notified when it’s ready to download.

Get Your New Content! Once the game update has been released and the servers are back online, the new features for FIFA 11 Ultimate Team will be available through the in-game store, via Xbox Live Marketplace and on the PlayStation Store.

Q: How do I download the patch/Title Update for the FUT 11 new features?

A: First party will release the Patch first to all users. After the patch has gone live they will begin to release the DLC. It will be available for download in the first party store which can be accessed via XBL or PSN while the FUT servers are down or through the game in the in-game store when the servers are live again.

The servers will be turned on from 2pm PST Feb 16th (Sony Europe and Xbox Worldwide) and 2pm PST Sony Asia.

Q: What happens if I’m already playing FUT 11 when the servers are turned off?

A: You will be able to complete your gaming session as normal. However, should you turn off your console you will be unable to restart FUT 11 until the relevant server for your console is turned back on. Please note that even if you are still playing when the new patch is ready, your game session will be interrupted and you’ll be prompted to update your game.

Q: Will the FUT 11 Web App (www.easportsfootball.com/ultimateteam) be affected?

A: Yes, but only for a short time. The FUT 11 Web App will be turned off at the same time as the game servers, but will return after about four hours. It will then remain available to you for the rest of the service outage. That means you’ll continue to be able to play FUT Web as you wait for the updates to happen.

Q: How long will it take me to download the patch and the new FUT 11 features?

A: The download time will depend on your individual connection speed to the internet. Please refer to your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for details on your connection speed.

Q: Will all gamers receive the updates at the same time?

A: No, we anticipate that some gamers may receive the patch/Title Update sooner than other gamers even in the same region. 1st-Party (Sony, Microsoft) will dictate the roll-out of the updates and EA does not control or influence this schedule.
