Get A Free Download Of American McGee's Alice With Alice: Madness Returns

Are you ready for a double dose of Alice from American McGee?

Alice: Madness Returns, shipping on June 14, will include a one-time-use Online Pass registration code that lets you play the original cult-classic American McGee’s Alice. If you do not have the code, you can purchase American McGee’s Alice for 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox LIVE Marketplace and $9.99 on the PlayStation Network through the main menu of Alice: Madness Returns. This download for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 will mark the very first time the infamous PC game has been available on consoles. Taken together, Alice and Alice: Madness Returns take players through the two dark chapters of American McGee’s adaptation of Alice in Wonderland.

Alice: Madness Returns is the sequel to the 2000 PC hit, American McGee’s Alice. This dark adaptation of Alice in Wonderland stars an adult Alice returning to the Wonderland of her mind to find the truth about her past. Instead of peace, however, she discovers that her place of refuge has been transformed into a sinister nightmare. As madness threatens to overcome both Alice and Wonderland, she falls deeper into the ravaged Wonderland. Along the way, she gains the power to fight the enemies who stand before her. Alice: Madness Returns has the same distinctive art style as the original game, but features entirely new visuals, story, and game design. Alice: Madness Returns will let you explore highly-detailed worlds and engage in epic battles against a cast of truly diabolical characters.

So, since I use a PC, I don't get the free download. Guess that shows how much you all at EA care about the people that made the original such a hit to begin with.

I owned the original Alice until some roommates took it off my hands without asking. I bought the PC version due to my lack of access to a PS3 or Xbox 360, only to learn they get the first game while the PC users are left out. I fail to see any good, logical reason why the first game was not included. I was willing to overlook EA's flaws (such as invading the privacy of my computer) if it meant I could revisit a game I loved and get the sequel to boot, but now I'm mired in disappointment. Fail.

Gotta love being punished for preferring PC over console. The game already exists for PC, how hard would it be to update it for modern PC's? Heck of a lot easier than adapting for PS3 I would think...

Actually converting it to a console game rather than change the codex's on the game mechanics, and graphical codes to suit the high end gaming PC's is a lot trickier than it was to just redesign a game for the console for those who CANT AFFORD a PC.

I couldn't afford to pre order this thing when I had the chance. Now that I DO I have the money, I'm basically screwed, the "Window" when I could get free a copy for buying on Origin has passed, and I doubt EA would add it again free for download with the 2nd one. I mean when was the last time EA did anything nice for its customers. I swear, decisions like this make me SERIOUSLY consider piracy. At least for the first game. Why bother shelling out more money for the first one just because they gave us PC users the shaft. I say give them the shaft right back.
