Next up in our series of FIFA 12 Pro Player Tournaments this season, we visited the Manchester City Training Ground.
Fresh from their triumphant victory at Old Trafford, the players were in high spirits and in the mood for more goals. Check out the video below!
The first match pitted City favourite for the tournament and big FIFA gamer, Joleon Lescott against Adam Johnson. And with Lescott playing as Man City against Johnson's Barcelona, it was a clash of the heavy weights in world football.
"He's (Lescott) always online playing against his friends and everything, including Ultimate Team so I'd definitely say he's the best (at FIFA)", said Adam Johnson.
After a tight opening, it was Lescott who broke through with a nice finish from Aguero in the 26th minute, which was enough to see off his opponent 1 -0.
In the second semi final, Club Captain Vincent Kompany played James Milner. Vincent playing as Bayern Munich and James as Barcelona. It was a game of epic proportions, Milner got the break through in the 26th minute with David Villa on the score sheet, before Kompany changed things up with his quick wing play utilising Robben to set up Gomez just before half time. The game remained 1-1 to the end of the 90 minutes so extra time was required.
And it was Milner scoring twice in extra time to round out a not so comfortable victory 3-1 to make the final.
"I was the underdog you know, so James did what he had to do in the end and scored 2 goals in extra time", said Captain Kompany.
The final was full of banter with Joleon proclaiming he would be FIFA king. And he didn't disappoint as he shot out of the blocks scoring twice in the first half with Aguero and Nasri to make it 2-0 at half time.
Milner pulled a goal back through Messi in the 66th but there wasn't to be a come back as Lescott secured the win with another Aguero goal in the 79th and 2 more in extra time with Aguero and Tevez respectively.
Despite only 49% possession in the final to City, Lescott showed he has the class to finish in front of goal, final score 5-1. Not quite the 6 goals of Old Trafford but Joleon was over the moon with the result.
Afterwards speaking exclusively with EA SPORTS, Joleon said, "I was scared going into it to be fair, I watched James in the semis and he was obviously better than Vinnie... but what do they say? Form is temporary, class is permanent?"
So congratulations to Joleon Lescott, he joins Jack Wilshere as the two Club Tournament Winners so far. Stay tuned for more tournaments in the coming weeks including Chelsea, Fulham and Aston Villa.
