Not only is Origin coming to Mac, but the 21 million-strong gaming service announced yesterday that it will also be introducing a number of new social features.

Peter Moore spoke to a full room at this year’s gamescom 2012 press conference as he described the changes to come: “We’re […] adding features to make Origin even more social, including sharing gameplay, achievements, and challenges with your friends, and tracking their progress in your favorite games.”

These and other changes, including improvements to the Origin UI, promise to make Origin a destination for much more than game purchases and downloads. Details will be revealed in the months to come.
