Play Need For Speed With The Black Keys’ Patrick Carney

It’s not quite a jam session, but Xbox’s “Game with Fame” event still nets you an hour of play time with Patrick Carney, the bespectacled drummer of The Black Keys. Starting at 2:00 p.m. PST on Friday, November 25, he’ll be logging into Xbox LIVE to play Need for Speed: The Run.

Need for Speed The Run initially paired up with the blues-rock duo to release the band’s latest single, “Lonely Boy,” in combination with some new in-game footage. Now, the game is out and the band’s next album, El Camino, is about to hit the shelves. The official release date is December 6, 2011.

If you want to race with Patrick on Friday, make sure you’re prepared. Xbox recommends being ready to play at least 30 minutes before the event. You’ll also want to friend or invite Friday’s alt-rock guest. He’ll be playing as “TBKElCamino.”

If you haven't picked up Need for Speed The Run, there's still time to grab a copy from the Origin store. Get yours today!

I could be wrong, and I know eventually NFS will respond to this, but this one game has a more complex level of security written into it. With all new levels of computer and software use, they leave some of the research and development to the users. The bigger the company, the more likely they are to release a product that needs trouble shooting. EA does have a good service track record and I bet they are working on the issue now, yet it may take several month to resolve.

The rating in Game Informer does not do the game justice. Yes, it is rather simple to play with a person only needing to be successful with timing the use of brakes and nitro to advance. The game does have an element of real life to it, if one is able to find it. Unlike the war and fighting games, which can be complex and very exciting, they are totally unrealistic. It is not even possible for any part of those games to ever parallel reality.
