• gamescom 2018 Survival Guide Learn how to beat the crowds, expect the unexpected and much more during your gamescom experience.

Whether you’re a seasoned pro or visiting for the first time, how do you make sure you get the absolute most out of your gamescom experience? We have you covered, with our gamescom 2018 Survival Guide.

    BEAT THE CROWD

Arrive early and try to avoid holding up queues for admittance to the Koelnmesse. Also try grabbing an EA VIP Player Pass over in Hall 6 and upping your chances of getting hands-on with titles players know and love - before anyone else!

    BE PREPARED TO WALK

gamescom covers a total area of 284,000 m² across 11 connected halls; that’s a lot of ground to cover. Go easy on your feet and wear something comfortable. Also only bring what you absolutely need to bring - avoid ballast.

    EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED

gamescom is filled with so many wonderful sights, but keep your eyes and ears open. You never know who or what might appear unexpectedly.

    COSPLAY

Keep your eyes open for jaw-dropping costume creations by the gaming community, or go one step further and completely immerse yourself in character re-creation by visiting the gamescom cosplay village in Hall 10.2.

    STAY HYDRATED

With huge crowds to navigate and the temperatures rising throughout the day, beat the heat and ensure you stay appropriately hydrated.

    BALLS OR BATTLES

Pay a visit to Hall 6 and become a footballing champion by getting hands-on with FIFA 19, or enter into mankind's greatest conflict in Battlefield V.

    FOOD IS YOUR FRIEND

Keep your energy up by keeping your stomach filled. You’ll need fuel to get the most out of your gamescom experience.

    CULTURAL HUB

Cologne is a 2,000-year-old city spanning the Rhine River in western Germany. Why not soak up some of the local culture during your trip to gamescom, like visiting the Chocolate Museum, Cologne Cathedral or the gamescom City Festival.
