Title: Sr Quality Analyst

Organization: Worldwide Studios

Location: Vancouver

Who I Am

I was born in Bucharest, Romania where my father worked as an Electrical Engineer while my mother was a developer at the National Bank. After moving to Vancouver, Canada at a young age, it was their tech savviness that introduced me to computers and together with my younger brother we became partners in crime, bent on finding the newest and coolest games on the market to master, including a stint as an avid priest raider in World of Warcraft.

Luckily, there was still some time for study in between all the gaming and I graduated from Simon Fraser University with a science degree in Computing Science, all the while dreaming of once working for EA – no joke! I’ve had a chance to spend a year in Waterloo working at BlackBerry headquarters and have even done a stint with the Government of Canada, but nothing compares to the moment when the recruiter came back to me with my EA offer!

What I Do

I try to apply both my education and experience in computing science to come up with interesting new ways of making QA test smarter and faster while acting as a tech consultant to the QA FIFA teams. It can be through a number of ways: automation, software tools, hardware improvements, you name it! It is a challenge that keeps me on my toes and constantly trying to figure out the next, brightest idea. It doesn’t end there; an idea can only get you so far. From there, I have to find ways to put it all together before working to conquer every FIFA project at EA SPORTS.

Thankfully, my team and Tech Analyst compatriots are there to lend a helping hand and help see everything through.

What is My Day?

Each day starts off with a quick sync with the team but there’s never a pattern to follow; my day can be spent researching existing tech, putting together an eye-catching presentation or grinding away to turn plans into process. It’s very exciting to finally see something come together after weeks of work as you’re wrapping up the final roll-out presentation.

Where Am I Going?

I want to continue to grow alongside Electronic Arts and see the wonderful concepts that come to life through fantastic games. My dream is to one day fulfill my goal of being a project manager and be able to apply all the learning I have under my belt working on my current and future projects to use.
