DICE gave us Battlefield. We gave Battlefield its Battle Royale mode. 64 players jump into the largest Battlefield arena ever created. Pursued by an ever shrinking destructive firestorm, they have to scavenge for weapons, ammo, and reinforcements to be the last squad or soldier left standing. Players got to capture objectives for special loot and awesome combat vehicles. Firestorm is the most intense Battlet Royale experience created and one that is uniquely Battlefield.

Star Wars™ Battlefront™ II - Starfighter Assault & Star Wars Arcade

Working with our friends at DICE, we created Starfighter Assault and Arcade. Featuring capital ships, objectives, heroes, and abilities, we saw epic space battles in all three ears of Star Wars. In Arcade, we wanted to bring the amazing sights and sounds of multiplayer Battlefront to the couch with split-screen co-op, arcade scoring, and progression and players loved it.

"The ships are such a joy to fly and the modes themselves are so successful – I wish it had been blown out into its own game."

Star Wars™ Battlefront™ - Rogue One : X-Wing VR

In collaboration with Frostbite and building on DICE's amazing work in Battlefront, we created EA's first VR game. We set the bar for quality on Playstation VR and made one of the best VR games to date. An authentic Star Wars story around explosive X-Wing dogfighting action.

"The best thing ever made by a human."

Need for Speed Most Wanted

Stick it to the cops and your friends in the world’s hottest, fastest and rarest cars. Do whatever it takes to become Most Wanted. No rules. No restrictions. No problem.

For Most Wanted, we took the blend of speed, cops, exotics and social online that we’d created for Hot Pursuit and took it to the next level with an enhanced Autolog filling the world with records set by your friends, an open progression giving you access to all the cars from the first minute of play and a welcome return for a harder-edged, competitive version of Paradise’s celebrated Freeburn Challenges

"The most purely enjoyable racing game I've played in ages."

Battlefield 1

Building on our collaboration with DICE. We took on setting the vision and executing on transport vehicles in Battlefield 1. Focus was fast, frantic, and fun vehicles to drive including jeeps and motorbikes with sidecars! By creating art, audio and gameplay for new bombers, armored trucks, fighter planes, and boats, we doubled the number of vehicles in Battlefield 1.

"The old-timey weapons and vehicles of WWI bring immense personality to this chaotic multiplayer shooter."

Need for Speed Hot Pursuit

We were massive fans of 1994′s original Need for Speed for 3DO and Black Box’s classic Need for Speed Hot Pursuit. We always wanted to make a Need for Speed game, and after Pro Street, Undercover and Shift, we felt like the series had lost some of its magic.

We wanted to create a fresh spin on Hot Pursuit for a connected generation of gamer. It was a Criterion Game, so it was always going to be about intense speed, lithe handling, epic drift and driving like a nutcase.

We served up the world’s hottest, fastest and rarest cars and asked you to drive ‘em like you stole ‘em. Or play as the cops and chase down criminals, shut down races and bust the crap out of them.

And we wanted to make so your friends were at the heart of the game, so we came up with a feature called Autolog. It was a bit like Facebook for a console game. We grafted online leaderboards onto every event in the game and created a feed calling it out when your friends beat you and phone and web versions that let you track the action wherever you went.

10/10 “No better racing game out there."

Burnout Paradise

Evolve or die. For Paradise, we knew we had to change everything. Burnout was a killer arcade driving game, but for a new generation of hardware and connected player Burnout had to become something more ambitious. Closed tracks made way for an expansive, open city, and we seamlessly synced your friends into the action and let you loose on a heap of cool challenges that unsurprisingly rewarded you for driving like a lunatic. Hey, it’s us after all.

We filled the city with billboards to jump though and tagged every street for fast times. The game compared them with your friends’ times- go fastest to rule the road. We called it Road Rules.

XBox 360 and PS3 hinted at a brave new world: beyond offline games in plastic boxes. We dreamed getting games digitally and of an ever-changing online service. We served up Toy Cars, a Party Pack, different challenges types, an all-new island location and bikes, in a wild, freewheeling year of game-changing, downloadable awesomeness and spoke direct to fans through our video podcast: Crash TV.

In November 2016, Burnout Paradise became Criterion’s first game to be featured in Microsoft’s Xbox One Backwards Compatibility programme, meaning Xbox One owners could play the Xbox 360 version of Paradise on a new generation of Microsoft hardware.

"Like a moth drawn to a flame, I can't pull myself away from the incredible explosions, blinding speeds, and impressive vehicular carnage."

Black

With BLACK, we wanted to do for the world of shooters what Burnout 3: Takedown did for driving games. At a time when shooters were preoccupied with stealth, story and World War Two or sci-fi, we were into intense action, CIA black ops and explosive modern weaponry.

After a trip to The Gun Store in Vegas, we were overwhelmed by the fierce, visceral experience of unloading a full clip on a high powered machine gun. We knew we could capture a bit of that, throw in Hollywood stunt-man enemies, explosive and destructive environments and a face-full of dust and debris to give video game shooting a kick up the ass.

The result was BLACK, a hard-as-nails, audio-visual assault set in a world of terrorist cells, CIA rendition, interrogation and illegal covert ops.

"BLACK is everything you'd ever want in a shooter if all you ever wanted to do was shoot stuff."

Burnout Revenge

Burnout Revenge took everything that was amazing about Takedown, and turned it up to 11.

Ripping through rush hour traffic never felt like so much fun. In addition to new race, crash and road rage modes, Burnout Revenge took our legendary sense of blistering speed and spectacular destruction to new heights. We introduced players to Traffic Attack, a mode focused on whacking traffic cars off the road to earn time and cash.

On 360, you could share 30 seconds of amazing gameplay with your friends online, a feature way of ahead of it’s time. We also tracked your takedown rivals when you played online, our precursor to what would become Autolog in Need For Speed Hot Pursuit.

"Every wreck is a visual affair to be savored and a delightful treat for a job nastily done."

Burnout 3 Takedown

In 2004, we put the finishing touches on our first collaboration with EA – the seminal Burnout 3: Takedown. The game was a bona fide classic, averaging 93% review scores and sweeping game of the year awards, including Spike TV’s Driving Game of the Year and the fan-voted “Most Addictive Game” ahead of Halo 2 and San Andreas.

Its predecessors, Burnout and Burnout 2: Point of Impact introduced the world to our trademark high speed action, sweet handling and spectacular crashes, but Burnout 3 put it all together. As before, we rewarded dangerous driving with speed boost, but the ability to “Takedown” rival drivers and steal boost threw aggression into the mix with spectacular results.

Gamespot’s Jeff Gerstmann wrote: “Even if driving games aren’t normally your thing, Burnout 3 is still right for you. It’s that good. It ranks among the best racing games ever made…An amazing achievement that anyone with a pulse will probably love.”

And millions of you did.

The new king of arcade racers."
