Franchise Mode

From the Dev Team: Hey Madden fans! This Title Update focuses on the areas you've provided feedback on that matter most: online-league stability, free agency realism, contract and retirement logic, and CPU salary-cap behavior. The fixes in today's Title Update will be applied to all existing Franchise Leagues. We will continue to monitor your feedback and tune your experience in future updates. Here is a list of what you can expect for tomorrow!

Free Agency

  • When you submit the top offer for a free agent, you should now win them far more often.
    • Dev Note: Players now weigh offers on both best fit and total contract value, and evaluate offers in OVR order during Free Agent Frenzy so the top players sign first. This directly addresses reports of submitting the best offer and still losing the player.
  • Teams now pursue multiple players at a position of need instead of one at a time, re-evaluating their needs each hour and withdrawing once a need is filled — so CPU teams stop chasing players they no longer need and won't stockpile a pile of signings at a single position.
  • Negotiation Withdrawals: Added logic to decrement interest and patience when a team withdraws a contract and re-enters a negotiation. You'll also see the player speak to this in the dialogue.
    • Dev Note: Keep an eye on player interest! If interest was already low, the player can now refuse to continue negotiations entirely.

Contracts & Retirement

  • Adjusted the number of years players ask for in negotiations to cut down on the volume of unrealistic 5+ year deals.
  • QBs with higher overall ratings are now less likely to retire in their early 30s, and halfbacks are less likely to retire early in their careers.
  • Fixed contract calculation and display issues, including restructures distributing money incorrectly, Roster Reserve double-counting bonus on draft picks, and the League Transactions log misreporting extensions and restructures.

Salary Cap

  • Reduced how often CPU teams compulsively restructure large contracts, and added logic so CPU teams avoid taking on massive dead-cap hits and won't chase signings that push them too far over next year's cap.
  • Fixed an issue where fair-market contract values could become overinflated due to a compounding salary-cap multiplier.

Online & Multi-User Leagues

  • Fixed a rare issue where users could be disconnected from the live event in a way that left the entire league inaccessible.
  • Fixed an issue in online leagues where a user leaving or joining could cause the Gameday tab buttons to disappear for everyone else.
  • Fixed additional softlocks and script losses around starting and advancing a Franchise.
    • Dev Note: Stability in online and commissioner leagues is a top priority for us. These fixes target the disconnect-and-lockout scenarios specifically, and we're continuing to harden multi-user leagues in upcoming updates.

Persona Engine updates

  • Mindset & Dialogue Fixes
    • Fixed high-level instances where player mindsets would get stuck past when they should, as well as conversation options that would loop infinitely without ending.

Emergent Actions  - Fixed an issue where “Wants Contract Extension” Mindset cards stopped appearing in the weekly hub.

Coaching & Staff

  • Fixed an issue where a user Head Coach could be fired after a winning season that ended in a playoff loss (Wild Card, Divisional, or Conference round).
  • Fixed an issue where a fired user Head Coach could receive a job offer from the very team that just fired them.

General Fixes

We have a wide range of additional fixes across the News Center, the NFL Draft, settings persistence in multi-user leagues, and general UI, transitions, crashes, and performance.

Still on our radar

Dev Note: We're reading your feedback daily. We have some items on our radar, and we are continuing to actively work on them. Stay tuned for a future Title Update Gridiron Notes to know when these are fixed!

  • CPU Salary-Cap Recovery:  We are continuing to work on CPU teams that fall into cap trouble along with other areas of salary cap management within this complex system.
  • CPU roster depth at specific positions and CPU draft-trade execution during simulated drafts.

Superstar

From the Dev Team: Hey Madden fans, with tomorrow's Title Update, we’re continuing our focus on improving stability and progression throughout Superstar. We have addressed several issues reported by you around Wear and Tear, Superstar progression, Showdown, the Storefront, Sphere of Influence, and the GOAT Journey.

Wear and Tear

  • Fixed an issue where Wear and Tear could accumulate much faster than intended, including instances where players with high Toughness and Stamina could reach severe levels after only a handful of plays.

Superstar Progression

  • Addressed several stability issues that could cause players to become stuck or unable to continue, including after importing a Road to Glory player and completing the NFL Combine, selecting Training, or viewing Team Stats after a game.

Showdown

  • Improved matchmaking stability, including fixes for a crash when backing out of Ranked Squads matchmaking and an issue where squads could become stuck searching for a game in Play a Friend.

Storefront & Superstar Pass

  • Addressed several Storefront issues, including a server error after a player's first purchase, problems with the Recommended Points purchase flow, and the Superstar Pass not properly loading after returning from a game.

Sphere of Influence

  • Fixed issues where Influence could be applied to the wrong teammate following depth chart changes and where Play tab quicklinks could open the incorrect SOI quests.

GOAT Journey

  • Fixed issues where the Simulation Recap could incorrectly display a GOAT Score of 0 and where Quarterbacks could be forced to retire after four seasons instead of the intended 12-season career.

General Fixes

  • Additional stability improvements have been made throughout Superstar progression, customization, and menu navigation.
