*Goal line plays in short yard situations have really just felt like any other play in Madden. So, we wanted to really give back user control in those situations and really feel the intensity of those moments.* 

*If you&#39;re on the road, we&#39;re going to factor that in. If you&#39;re playing in heavy snow, we&#39;re going to factor that in.* 

*If it&#39;s the fourth quarter tie ball game fourth and inches, that&#39;s going to matter more to the player and you&#39;re going to feel that through the QB sneak feature in the snap meter that we&#39;re introducing this year.* 

*The new snap meter mechanic has two aspects to this.*

*So, your first one is your accuracy portion. The other aspect is going to be your timing meter.* 

*It&#39;s really going to be up to the user to time their snap correctly.* 

*QB Sneak and the Tush Push have been such a popular trend.*

*We&#39;ve seen the success that teams like the Eagles have had, and we wanted to deliver that to the players.* 

*On defense, we&#39;re also introducing new coaching adjustments.* 

*We&#39;re going to be adding new pre-play control mechanics for the run game, but now we&#39;re going to give you the ability to set up your own blocking scheme from one-on-one to up to 3v3 interactions.* 

*They&#39;re going to see that physicality, and we wanted to represent sort of those war in the trenches feelings.* 

*If you watch any NFL game, short yardage moments are just as important as a big play pass, you know, for a touchdown. So, we wanted to pay that off through our short yardage feature set.*

Explore Madden NFL 27’s Coach DNA and how more authentic coach profiles, smarter CPU tendencies, and improved in-game decision-making make every matchup feel more strategic, dynamic, and true to Sunday football.

*We&#39;ve seen a lot of feedback from players that they want more of a reasonable challenge when they play against the CPU. So, that&#39;s really what we went after this year.* 

*We looked at our adaptive AI system that basically works alongside the play calling models and is an entire behavior tree system that is adding more depth and nuance to the game.* 

*Now, the CPU is going to have a gamelong idea of what concepts they&#39;ve run that have worked before, how that&#39;s setting up future play calls.* 

*If you try to run over and over again with a quarterback, the CPU will stop you now. If you throw drags over and over again, the CPU will stop you now.* 

*Now, we have eight different adaptive coaching profiles. Three aggressive, three balanced, and two conservatives.*

*So, on one end, you might have a conservative style coach who&#39;s going to play more of like a soft, too high shell. But then on the other end of the spectrum, you might have a really aggressive coach who&#39;s looking at what are the ratings of the offensive and defensive line, who&#39;s the quarterback, who&#39;s the running back.* 

*The game should feel extremely different from one another. Should really feel like the CPU has a distinct identity for how they&#39;re trying to beat you.*

*Coach mode is a brand new way to experience our game. It allows you to play the game from the coach perspective.* 

*You pick your play, you make your pre-snap adjustments, and then it&#39;s up to the AI to play for you.*

*And so, you don&#39;t get to cover up any sort of weaknesses you see on your team. You have to play bounce football just like in real life.*

*Coach mode is built for fans that love simulation football and the strategy of football. It gives a lot of people a perspective that they&#39;ve never had before.*

*With the new coach mode cameras, you can get a really unique view of the game.* 

*Getting to see everything up close and personal from the sideline or super far away in the coach booth. You can just pick up and play coach mode at any time. Play now. Franchise. You can run a whole franchise where you have to play coach mode.*

*There&#39;s only 32 head coaches in the NFL and you&#39;ll get to be one of them.*

*In Madden 27, we&#39;re bringing you custom adjustments.*

*Essentially, what it&#39;s going to do is allow you to take any of our pre-play adjustments, any of our coach adjustments, put them into one singular macro.* 

*You&#39;ll be able to create up to 10 defensive custom adjustments and 10 offensive custom adjustments. And on top of that, you can have 10 adjustments on the bench.* 

*We have pre-play revamp, which will help you make adjustments as quickly as you&#39;ve ever been able to.* 

*You can also combo certain adjustments. So now if I want to press and shade my defense, I can do that in three clips. Hold LT, call, press, shade up, back off the DV on the left side.* 

*We have a lot of different things. One I think people will like is being able to dictate your zone strategy.*

*Defensive coordinators or coaches, they don&#39;t build their plays from scratch every play. They know exactly what they want to do, how they want it done, and they install that scheme. So with custom adjustments, we now allow our users to do that.* 

*This isn&#39;t just about making the adjustments more accessible. It&#39;s about making football strategy more accessible.*

*Persona Engine is a monumental change to franchise mode. It changes every single week. It changes your league every single time because it makes our players feel human and it makes them think about their own personal situation all the time.* 

*We looked at every single player, pulled that together as a profile of what that player&#39;s DNA is. We&#39;ve got over 65 persona DNA that can apply to any player. We&#39;ve also got temporary DNA that is respondent to things that happen from you.* 

*It constantly evolves. They&#39;re actually going to think about situations where maybe it&#39;s time to demand a trade. Maybe it&#39;s time for me to hold out.* 

*Now you actually feel like you&#39;re going into a negotiation with each player. Contract incentives, void years, structuring contracts differently, franchise tags, transition tags, restricted free agents.*

*It was time for us to make sure that we caught up to what the rest of the NFL was doing and have that authentic experience. So, our goal was to make this league feel alive and make the players that you interact with feel like real human beings.*

Explore Madden NFL 27’s Timing Based Catching and how the new mechanic gives players more control at the catch point, rewarding anticipation, precision, and skill in every receiver/defender battle.

*With time and based catching and the new route tree changes, you&#39;re going to have to think quick because defenders have weapons against TDC. And the same thing on the receiver side.* 

*Timing based catching is flat out going to change the way the game plays. It gives players control over whether or not they can guarantee themselves a catch or they can give themselves a great chance at a catch.* 

*The way time based catching works is four different windows in this meter. A very early, slightly early, perfect, and late. Now, when you&#39;re throwing that pass, your your timing has got to be a lot better than it&#39;s been in the past.*

*You can determine at what distance down the field you want TBC to be active. You can split it for offense and defense and then whether or not you want the meter to show all the time or if you just want feedback only.* 

*Our biggest goals in overhauling route tree this year was just to bring the physicality between the receivers and the DBs through our jostle system.* 

*They can be physical at the press point at the first stem of the route at the cut point and with the ball in the air.*

*Seeing that visually instantly makes it feel more connected and more real. I think in the past our our game is pretty much speed is king.* 

*This year with the change, a really good defender, even with low speed, can get physical and lock up receivers.* 

*Every year we try to make strides to make our game more authentic. I just feel like it was the next thing we needed to deliver.*
