After the new SimCity. Overpriced expansions of The Sims 3 and less objects and gameplay in these expansions compared to TS1 & TS2, I'm not even remotely interested in this. I will be shocked if this changes my mind later but my trust in Maxis/EA has been destroyed completely. I own the entire TS1 & TS2 & expansions and got fed up with the cost of TS3 expansions after the first 3. Then SimCity became the first game I have ever had to return. Please make a game not a cash cow.

I can agree about less objects - but less gameplay? I'd say if its one thing the Sims 3 expansions done right it's that most of them have had increased focus on gameplay and to a much higher degree than the expansions in previous titles. I remember still how impressed I was about that when I got the first expansion, World Adventures, that let you go adventuring and exploring crypts. The previous titles was much closer to giant stuff packs than gameplay changing expansions like that.

I agree. That's why I manage to own the expansions at low prices. In TS2, the expansions really made a difference. But I'm addicted to that game, so I guess I'll buy the Sims 4 as well as I bought all TS2 and TS3...

I hope it's not as cartoony as The Sims 3 was. TS2 you could get some realistic visuals going (for its time, anyway), but TS3 was far too stylized for me.

I never owned The Sims 2 but I did know that you could pick an outfit and the main clothing aspect was outfits, I believe, and I saw some of the outfits and they were cute! Anyways if EA created more outfits like the sims 2 I think I would buy this game.

I agree with you on that. In my opinion Sims 3 characters all looked basically the same. No ability at all to customize like in Sims 2, which is my favorite.

All the people hating, calm down! It happened to The Sims 1, Sims 2 and Sims 3. It's only natural we get The Sims 4. SO EXCITED!

I just think its funny Sims 4 is coming out in 2014! xD I am also very excited! I bet they will change the mood system because in sims 2 they had wants and fears and in the sims 3 they had moodlets! Maybe even new traits or maybe additions to the Sims 3 traits! Yay, yay, yay, yay!

What will ruin it for me is social dependency to advance, and the dreaded always online horse in the room tihng. Fingers crossed.

Yep. I have no faith that EA can deliver after the Sim City debacle. Hopefully they can prove me wrong. Always online is a no go for me

It's an offline game. It'll most likely have some social sharing like The Sims 3 does, but it's completely offline. As in it's not like SimCity. You really can play offline.

While you are right to love Maxis, EA and Sims Studio have gone over their heads. With Gold editions of worlds and stupid EPs, Sims Studio seems like the source of the problem, I miss the old days when it was Maxis and Maxis ONLY.
