NHL 13 Hits Franchise High In First Week

NHL 13 is off to an impressive start in its first week since launch with 484,000 units sold to date, a 9% increase in sell through over last year’s previous franchise high. Our fans are really getting engaged in the game with just under 5 million goals scored in the game and over 350 online games of NHL 13 played every minute. Fans have also created just under 50,000 of their own alternate versions of the NHL through the new GM Connected feature.

We’re super excited at the positive response to the game, especially after what was a record first week for another EA SPORTS favorite – Madden NFL 13.

With so many of you logging in to skate, we took a look at the most popular teams in the league. Here are the top ten being played on NHL 13 so far:

1. Pittsburgh Penguins
2. New York Rangers
3. Philadelphia Flyers
4. Montréal Canadiens
5. Detroit Redwings
6. Vancouver Canucks
7. Los Angeles Kings
8. Chicago Blackhawks
9. Boston Bruins
10. Toronto Maple Leafs

So, did your favorite make the list? And what do you think about the new features like True Performance Skating and EA SPORTS Hockey I.Q.? Let us know!

Hey EA, how come your collision detection is so awful in NHL 13? The opposing player has the puck and goes right through me while I'm laying on the floor in front of him. I would rather have given him the penalty shot than taken the goal that way...way to go. You've just been degraded to one of the worst game developers in my mind.

The game is great. Great new game play. Features are fun to learn and master. Putting together your skills, with the new game additions is the best. As for online. One moment your doing great, getting shots in. But than your opponent comes in with a single rush and BINK! He scores. Than for the rest of the game, the momentum is in his favor and you are left cursing at the game, slamming your remote and turning the game off. (just exaggerating)

I hate how the game kind of favors your team, or your opponents. I like a game based completely on your skills, and the person you are versing. I hate how my opponent can get one lucky shot and the whole game turns on me. Of course, I lose. Everybody loses i am completely okay with that. I just do not like how one moment my players are all over the place and the next everyone is skating all over and the opponent is un-touchable.

I think you guys still have a lot of work to do on this game! I agree with "nighthawk213nl". You really went backwards on the game play. I can no longer throw a check. Hardly at all, anyway. Even with a 91 check rated player as well as others. My player gets "glued" to the boards and the opposing player almost always comes up with the puck. Not to mention, I am sick and tired of getting glued to opposing players for 5+ seconds in front of their net while they are pretty free to skate freely.

Continuing..Acceleration is totally effed up. Again, even with my highly rated player, any opposing player skates circles around him. Oh, and the saves by the opposing goalie? I sent you a snippet from a game I had yesterday. I was literally 5 feet in front of the open net with the opposing goalie being out of position. I wound up to do a slapshot even though I didn't need to and he made the "miraculous" and ******** save. You know what's ridiculous? At least 50% of my shots hit the post or cros

sbar and I can't hit the net even though the goalie has been pulled. There's so much more, but I am sick of typing. FIX THIS GAME!! I do however like the HUT format. Well done.

Instead of changing frigging EVERYTHING you should have just refined the NHL 12 version of the game and released it as NHL 13.

I agree that thee are some issues need attention. I have a problem with using various headsets with NHL13 only. Bluetooth devices all have a sound issue that the sound fades in and out in waves of less than one second. I also tried the PS USB headset and the sound was very low and had alomst no low frequency to it. I however have found some success using an old "Dynex" USB headset that has a similar problem as the PS USB, although the sound quality stinks the volume is tolerable. I have tried registering and and pairing, changing vloume settings.I have contacted Sony and after 45 mn. of doint the same things I did before I called, they gave me the number for EA. I called and spoke to a rep that tried to find any audio issues online, then sent me ehre in hopes that a developer will se the post and assist me. I do know that I am not the only person with this issue, I would say 2 of 10 players I speak to experience it as well HELP, I dont wanna go BACKWARD to using a corded headset! Oh and as a footnote, all of the headsets i tried work on NHL12 Thanks
