The Jacksonville Tribute Fund - 12/5 Update
Today we are sharing a Jacksonville Tribute Fund update after the GoFundMe’s closure on November 28, 2018. We can’t thank the Madden community enough for the continued outpouring of support, which helped us raise more than $1.2M.
We would like to thank the National Compassion Fund (NCF), a 501c3 nonprofit, for taking the leadership of the fund back in September and driving the process forward. The NCF has guided this process with great care and compassion. As the independent organization that controls the full operations and funding decisions of the fund, they will review the applications, including recommendations for payments based on a multitude of factors. Payment distribution to approved eligible beneficiaries begins on or around December 17th. Please visit the established contribution fund protocol for more detail.
Victims managing medical bills can also reach out to the Florida Attorney General’s office, which has a crime victims fund reimbursing out-of-pocket expenses. This was shared directly with those impacted by the Jacksonville event and please visit this link for more information.
