To put your defensive line on exotic stunts and dial up pressure on the quarterback for crucial stops, follow these steps: 

- From the play call screen, press and hold the defensive play you want—the stunt options for that play will appear. 
- Scroll through the available stunts and release the button to select the one you prefer.


If you want to change your stunt pre-snap, follow these steps: 

- Press left on the D-Pad.
- Press RB on Xbox / R1on PlayStation.
- Then, flip through the stunt options by pressing left or right on the D-pad until you find your desired stunt.


To cancel a stunt follow these steps: 

- Press left on the D-Pad.
- Press RB on Xbox / R1on PlayStation.
- Press LT on Xbox / L2 on PlayStation.

How to Use/Select Stunts in Madden NFL 26


Here’s how to play with and against your friends online in Madden 26. 
## **To Play Madden 26 Against Your Friends**

1. From the main menu, select Online H2H. 
2. Then scroll down to H2H Play a Friend and press Start. 
3. From there, customize your desired settings and confirm by pressing A on Xbox or X on PlayStation. 
4. After that, you can invite your friends to a head-to-head game.

## **To Play Madden 26 With Your Friends**

1. Go to Quick Play in the main menu.
2. Choose Superstar KO.
3. Scroll to size and select the size of your party, with a maximum of three players, and click on the plus sign to invite your friends.
4. Next, choose the type, mode, and opponent you want, and get ready to dominate Madden 26 together.

 How to Play Madden 26 With Your Friends Online


Preventing the quarterback from scrambling and stopping the option game will help you get more stops on defense. Here’s how to do it: 

To stop the quarterback in the option game, go to coaching adjustments by pressing the right stick in from the playcall screen. Scroll down to Option Read Key and Pitch Key settings:

- To have the defender always play the quarterback on a Read Option, set the Option Read Key to Conservative.
- To always play the quarterback on a speed option, set the Option Pitch Key to Conservative. 


To prevent the QB from scrambling out of the pocket, press RB on Xbox / R1 on PlayStation then LB on Xbox / L1 on PlayStation pre-snap. This will put your defensive ends on QB contain assignments.

How to QB Contain and Stop the QB in the Option Game

## **Coverage Shells**

Coverage Shells allow you to disguise your defensive shell to always keep your opponent guessing. 

To use Coverage Shells

- Pick your desired formation.
- Flick the right stick left or right to change your coverage look.


Each formation has different coverage shell options, keeping your opponent on their toes pre-snap. 
## **Custom Stem Zones**

You can change the depth of each zone with the new “Custom Stem” feature. Follow these steps to custom stem a zone:

- Individually select the player in the zone you want to adjust.
- In their individual adjustment menu, hold LB/L1 and move the left stick up or down to increase or decrease the depth of the zone. (Pro Tip: Press the D-Pad up or down to custom stem the zone in 5 yard increments).

## **Route Commit**

When playing man defense, you can now use route commit to have your defenders fully commit to an inside-breaking or outside-breaking route. You can route commit by following these steps: 

- Press RB/R1.
- Flick the left stick left to commit inside and right to commit outside.


You can individually route commit players by individually selecting the player you want to route commit then use the left stick to route commit inside or outside. 

Reset the route commit by flicking the left stick down in the route commit menu.

How to use Coverage Shells, Custom Stem Zones, and Route Commit

Block Steering allows you to control the player blocking you, forcing quarterbacks into dangerous situations or closing up holes ball carriers are trying to run through. 

To Block Steer:

Hold RT/R2 when engaged with a blocker and steer the blocker by moving the left stick left or right.

Switch sticking is one of the most powerful mechanics in Madden 26. Here’s how to do it: 

- User control a defender in a coverage assignment.
- During a pass play, flick the right stick toward a defender also in a coverage assignment.


This lets you cover the entire field by moving your user across different defenders throughout the play. 

It’s important to note that if you’re controlling a player who is not assigned to coverage, such as a defensive lineman blitzing, you won’t be able to use Switch Stick.

Knowing when and how to go for an interception or a swat is crucial to winning games in Madden 26.

Here is how to swat and intercept the football:

- If you’re a couple yards away from a receiver, press X on Xbox / ▢ on PlayStation to swat the ball down.
- If you’re playing tight coverage on a receiver, press Y on Xbox / △ on PlayStation to intercept the ball.

There are 3 ways to Show Blitz in Madden 26. This helps you disguise your blitzes in a variety of ways. 
## Show blitz for the linebackers

Press right on the D-Pad then RB on Xbox / R1 on PlayStation. This will move the linebackers closer to the line of scrimmage.
## To show blitz for the secondary

Press Y on Xbox /△ then RB on Xbox / R1 on PlayStation. This will move the entire secondary closer to the line of scrimmage.
## Universally show blitz

Press RB on Xbox / R1 on PlayStation then RB / R1. This will move the linebackers and safeties towards the line of scrimmage.

Knowing the different ways to tackle can be the difference between making a crucial stop or giving up an easy touchdown.
## **Conservative Tackle**

Press A on Xbox / X on PlayStation. This tackle reduces the chance of getting faked out.
## **Dive Tackle**

Press X on Xbox / ▢ on PlayStation. This tackle is great when trying to prevent the ball carrier from gaining extra yards.
## **Cut Stick**

Flick the right stick down. This tackle is best to use when facing bigger ball carriers to take out their legs.
## **Hit Stick**

Flick the right stick up. This tackle is great to deliver huge hits and force fumbles.
## **Strip Ball**

RB on Xbox / R1 on PlayStation. Use the strip ball mechanic when trying to force a fumble.
