This week’s NHL 13: American Hockey League Sim of the Week takes us to the legendary Copps Coliseum in Hamilton, Ontario. Tonight at 7:30pm EST, the Hershey Bears square off against the Hamilton Bulldogs. The Bears currently sit seventh in the Eastern Conference and will need to continue to win games if they wish to stay in the playoff race. On the other hand, the Bulldogs season is one they'd like to quickly forget, but have the opportunity to play spoiler.

Box Score

Talk about a crazy, high-scoring affair. The Bulldogs managed to send the Bears packing with a 5-3 defeat, thanks in part to three unanswered goals. Hamilton's Zack Stortini started the scoring before a good chunk of the crowd found their seats. Boyd Kane and Ryan Stoa of the Hershey Bears would answer back with two quick goals of their own. Before the close of the first period, Gabriel Dumont would tie the game at 2-a-piece.

The see-saw battle continued in the second period with Stoa getting his second of the night and giving the Bears their second lead of the game. But that would be the end of the scoring for the visitors as Patrick Holland of the Bulldogs tied the game again. Louis Leblanc would get the game-winning goal three minutes later and Russian Winger, Alexander Avtsin put the final nail in the coffin, scoring moments before the final sound of the horn.

Three Stars

There were a lot of players worthy of earning one of the three star credits but all recognition went to members of the Hamilton Bulldogs. Zack Stortini would be named First Star thanks to his goal that started the proceedings and assisting on two others. Louis Leblanc and Patrick Holland take Second and Third Star honors as both players had a goal and an assist.
