Today, EA SPORTS announced that University of Alabama running back Mark Ingram will appear on the cover of NCAA Football 12, wrapping up a four-week voting campaign in which the fans had the chance to select the game’s next cover athlete for the first time in franchise history.

Ingram, who captured the Heisman Trophy and won a National Championship during in his illustrious collegiate career at Alabama, defeated three worthy candidates en route to another historical milestone.

Auburn University defensive linemen Nick Fairley, University of Oklahoma running back DeMarco Murray, and quarterback Jake Locker of the University of Washington were also in the running to appear on the cover, and each put up a valiant effort throughout the campaign before falling short in the polls.
