Mass Effect 3 Release Date Announced

Electronics Arts announced today that the highly anticipated third chapter of the acclaimed action RPG series Mass Effect 3 arrives on March 6, 2012. The epic saga continues as the ancient alien race known only as "Reapers" begins their all-out invasion of the galaxy. As they cut a swathe of destruction through the stars, numerous worlds teeter on the brink of utter annihilation. Earth has already fallen to the Reapers and as Commander Shepard, you are the only once who can stop them.
Lead the counter assault to take back the universe, making key decisions that determine the course of galactic history. Planets will be saved or obliterated, alliances formed and broken based on your choices. Rally a diverse coalition to eliminate the Reaper threat once and for all. The price of failure is extinction. Not everyone will survive.

Aside from revealing that the game supports Kinect™ through new voice recognition technology, BioWare unveiled the Mass Effect 3 N7 Collector’s Edition. It features exclusive bonus content and unlockable items including in-game appearance packs, a Dark Horse Comic Book, a hardcover art book, an exclusive extended soundtrack, exclusive lithograph and an exclusive N7 patch.
A fitting addition to any fan's collection, the Mass Effect 3 N7 Collector’s Edition gives instant access to the N7 Arsenal Pack which features four tactical guns exclusive to this special edition. The Mass Effect 3 N7 Collector’s Edition is available for pre-order now at participating retailers for $79.99 in limited quantities.
This special edition will also be made available in a digital format on the PC exclusively via Origin, EA’s new digital store (http://Origin.com). It includes in-game appearance packs, a digital version of the Dark Horse Comic Book, a digital version of the art book, an exclusive extended soundtrack, a digital version of the exclusive lithograph and the N7 Arsenal Pack. The digital version of the Mass Effect 3 N7 Collector’s Edition will not include the N7 patch.
