Jack is a marked man with an immense debt to the wrong people in Need for Speed The Run. With nothing else to lose, Jack enters The Run, an illegal, cross-country race for a huge cash purse. It's his final option to get back the money he owes and get the thugs chasing him off his back.

The Run starts in San Francisco, and 3000 miles stand between Jack and the finish line in New York. In his way are 200 of the most ruthless, vicious drivers to hit the asphalt looking to claim first place by any means necessary.

The $25 million prize is the only thing that can save Jack's hide—if he doesn't lose it racing through avalanches, rockslides, or minigun-equipped helicopters. Only one vehicle isn't going to cut it in this race, and as one vehicle after another get's totaled, tailed, and targeted, Jack has to exit the car and survive on foot long enough to reach his next ride.
